Aldi has kicked off today with a new launch that’s set to have parents rushing to the middle aisle. Its brand new Squishee toys are finally here, and they’re already tipped to be the next sell-out Specialbuy. Soft, round and seriously cute, these plush characters look every bit as huggable as Squishmallows, only at a price that’s much kinder to your wallet – ideal if you’re trying to score some bargains in the run-up to Christmas.

Landing in stores and online this morning, Thursday 18th September, the range brings together a line-up of colourful characters that tick all the boxes for kids (and grown-ups) who love to collect. From £6.99, their prices start far lower than the official versions, which retail up to £50, making them perfect picks for Christmas stockings, birthday surprises or even as a treat for yourself.

If you’ve shopped Aldi’s Specialbuys before, you’ll know how fast these launches can move. From viral beauty products to trending gadgets, the shelves clear quickly, and Squishees look set to follow the same path. Social media is already buzzing with shoppers sharing early finds, and the message is clear: get there fast if you want one.

The timing couldn’t be better. Christmas shopping lists are starting to build, and with Squishmallows sitting firmly at the top of many wish lists, Aldi’s budget-friendly take is likely to be snapped up in record time. With the real deal becoming harder to track down, Squishees give families the same cuddly, collectable fun without the hefty price tag.

So, what Squishees are on offer from today?

The new lineup includes everything from smaller cuddly fairytale characters to giant sleeping animals, all of them looking similar to Squishmallows.

Prices kick off at £6.99 for pocket-money-friendly items, with Fairytale Squishees (30cm tall) priced the lowest. Shoppers can choose from a Sir Camelot, Porridge, Little Piggy and Scarlett version. For something bigger, the 50cm Mythical range comes in at £19.99, with variants including Pearl – Unicorn, Arthur – Dragon, Flossie – Mermaid Bunny and Wolfie – Wolf. Then there’s a long, lay-down style plush, and the 100cm Sleeping Animal versions are £12.99 each. Backpacks and notebooks are also on offer.

As actual Squishmallows, stock for the newer and trending toys can be unreliable, but Argos is currently stocking a new-in 20 inch Daxxon Purple Alien Plush for £50, or a 7.5 inches Pink Orchid Mantis Plush for £9.
