Shoppers have been desperate to pick up the limited time offer in the SpecialBuy aisles
Aldi shoppers say people would “never guess” that their luxury scents came from the same place they picked up eggs, bread and milk.
Liquid Luxe, Cardinal Red or Intense Passion landed in stores this week as part of Aldi’s beauty event that returns to stores across the UK and people have been snapping up scents that smell “identical” to big designers without the staggering price tag. The range includes three reasonably-sized scents at 50ml that would be perfect to toss in your bag for a top-up during the day and will meet the airport liquids rule meaning they’re ideal for people jetting off on summer holidays.
People have already been storming the budget supermarket for the fragrances after they were released in October 2023 to rave reviews. Aldi releases perfumes under its beauty brand Lacura – but those who are fans of the scents have compared them to some major labels.
Influencers and shoppers alike have been comparing Aldi’s ‘Cardinal Red’ with Baccarat Rouge which retails for about £245 for a similar size. The Liquid Luxe could save fans of Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Gentle Fluidity Gold Edition a staggering sum.
The bottle of the original scent will set you back about £185 compared to the similar Lacura spray that costs just £5.99 while stocks last. Intense Passion has been compared to Kilian Paris’ Love that retails for about £220 a bottle.
In the Aldi UK Shoppers Facebook group, people have been sharing the finds in their local stores. They’ll only be in the middle aisle for a short time so people are being urged to act fast if they want to snap up a bargain.
One shopper stunned by the potential savings said: “£245?! Thank God for Aldi!”
Another said: “I have all of them and love them. A lot of my friends ask what fragrance am I wearing and when I tell them the price and where they came from they are surprised!”
A third said: “I have the Liquid Luxe and its beautiful plus it stays on all day.” Someone else wrote: “Got my hands on some of the [Intense] Passion one today and it smells unreal – you’d never guess it was from Aldi!”
The wider beauty range includes products inspired by a number of other high end brands like CreaVe, Color Wow, Garnier, Sanctuary Spa and Charlotte Tilbury. There is also a range of products rich in Vitamin C and almond.
One shopper said: “Omg I regretted not going back and buying more of the almond shower oil. I’ll be getting 10 of these!” Another said: “Can’t wait to try some of these. If they save me a bit of money and work just as well its a win win.”
