Aldi’s £7 item ‘perfect’ for anyone who owns a dog this summer

Shoppers can take advantage of the returning range that was added to the middle aisle this weekend

Aldi has brought back its popular pet range, meant to help make the hotter months a bit more bearable for dogs. From spending chilled-out afternoons in the garden to making those walks easier in the heat, the discount supermarket has covered a lot of bases.

With temperatures set to soar soon, dogs can very quickly become at risk of overheating this summer. This problem can soon become a major health hazard and cause pet owners to face a trip to the vets—or worse.

But Aldi’s ever-changing middle aisle is now catering for pets, including items for dogs to enjoy and benefit from. Starting from as little as £3.50, pet owners can make sure their animals are protected from the hot conditions.

Aldi’s new pet range for the summer hit stores May 18. Shoppers will need to hurry if they want to get their hands on these pet must-haves, though, as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Cooling off in the garden can be a little bit more fun for your dogs—especially if they love playing in water. Aldi’s Dog Sprinkler Mat (£6.99) connects to a hose pipe and has an adjustable sprinkler intensity via the hose water pressure to create hours of water play.

These mats are available in a selection of designs, including stylish leafy blue or tropical sunset prints. After lots of active play, dogs need a cool and shaded place to chill out – like the Sunshade Dog Bed (£16.99).

Designed to elevate pets off the hot ground, it features a canopy that provides sun protection up to UV 50. Complete with a carry bag, it’s ideal for trips to the park or beach, too.

A popular item returning to Aldi is the Pet Cooling Mat (£5.99). Offering an immediate chilling effect thanks to pressure-activated gel, it is perfect for placing inside crates, in pet beds, and even on the ground.

Aldi’s Pet Cooling Vest (£4.99) is a post-walk must-have – available in sizes XS to L. Alternatively, for pets who hate wearing clothing, there’s a Pet Cooling Towel (£4.99), too. Simply soak in water, chill in the fridge and pop on for instant relief.

For quick hydration top-ups during walks, Aldi has a Pet Travel Bottle (£3.49) available in four designs. At the press of a button, it transforms into a spill-free bowl. With built-in treat storage, keeping pets happy in the sun has never been easier.

Dogs are at high risk of heatstroke because, unlike humans, they lose heat through panting and can only sweat through their paws. For more advice on keeping your pet safe, visit the RSPCA website here.
