Amanda Balionis has been taking a break from her hectic schedule and has been sharing photos of her trip away with her followers on social media
CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis is taking a well-deserved break from her broadcasting duties. The 39-year-oldold, who’s been in the thick of action covering the PGA Tour before delving into NFL coverage in September, is currently off-screen, unwinding instead of presenting this weekend’s sports lineup.
She shared a glimpse of her idyllic beach getaway as reflected in the Instagram snap she shared with her fans, accompanied by the caption “paradise found.”
Balionis, part of the CBS team since 2018, has quickly established herself as a familiar face for sports fans. And while NFL enthusiasts seem to enjoy her new gridiron gig, golfing devotees can’t help pestering her on social media, enquiring, “When are you going back to golf?”
Her latest sun-kissed post coincided with the day Rory McIlroy celebrated turning his tumultuous year around with not one, but two trophies in Dubai. McIlroy’s year had its rocky moments, notably at the US Open, where Bryson DeChambeau snatched the title right at the thrilling end.
But the golfer’s personal life also saw its fair share of ups and downs after he and his wife Erica Stoll initially announced a split before opting to stay together weeks later. This period sparked unfounded rumours linking McIlroy with Balionis, albeit without any evidence to support such claims.
Following his triumph on Sunday, McIlroy didn’t hold back his emotions as he wrapped his arms around Erica and their daughter Poppy. Overcome with sentiment, he said: “Yeah It means a lot. I’ve been through a lot this year professionally, personally. It feels like the fitting end to 2024.”
“You know, yeah, look, I’ve persevered this year a lot. Had close calls. Wasn’t able to get it done… Really pleased with the way I finished and thankfully I hung on on a tough day and got it done.”
