The brand-new gaming console is available to pre-order ahead of its launch in June
The highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console is finally available to pre-order. A handful of retailers opened pre-orders for the gaming console yesterday (April 3), including Very and EE, with many gamers quick to register their interest.
The Nintendo Switch 2 costs £395.99 when bought individually, or the gaming console can be bought as part of a bundle with the new Mario Kart World game for £429.99. Gamers will be able to buy new accessories to go with the new console, including the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller, a USB-C camera for chat features, and a variety of new and exclusive games.
Unfortunately, multiple sites have now closed their Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders due to the overwhelming demand. A message on the Argos website reads: “Sorry, this item is just too popular! But we may get more stock, so do check back at a later date.”

It’s the same story over at Very, where the gaming console sold out within the hour and is currently unavailable. Elsewhere, EE is still allowing shoppers to register their interest for the Nintendo Switch 2. We anticipate Amazon could follow suit, with high demand leading to potential low stock levels.
Buy the Nintendo Switch 2 from EE
The Nintendo Switch 2 is open for pre-order from EE. You can get the Nintendo Switch 2 bundled with the new Mario Kart World now – but don’t slack because it won’t be around for long.
Gamers who missed out needn’t worry, as Amazon has now opened its pre-order system. The online giant is allowing gamers to request an invite to be able to purchase the gaming console for £395.99 once it launches. Shoppers who register their interest will (hopefully) be accepted and receive an email with a link to buy the console once it’s available.
Amazon says the Nintendo Switch 2 is a ‘high-demand item with limited quantities’ and that they ‘won’t be able to grant all requests’. The explanation for the retailer’s invite scheme reads: “To ensure that as many genuine customers as possible can buy this high-demand item, we sell it by invitation. If invited to purchase, you’ll get an email when the item is available. Not all requests will be granted.”
Nintendo confirmed the Switch 2 will be officially launching on June 5, 2025. In the meantime, gamers can check out what the Mirror’s gaming team thought of the Nintendo Switch 2 here.
For shoppers wanting to get their hands on Switch 2 accessories, a variety are available to pre-order at Very. This includes the new Pro controller and the USB-C camera.
