Amazon’s ‘most powerful’ tablet has been slashed to almost half price, marking the lowest cost since Black Friday. The Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet, originally priced at £259.99, is now available for £139.99.

This represents a saving of £120 or 46% for the 64GB model and is the cheapest it’s been since Amazon’s Black Friday sale in November last year, according to price tracker camelcamelcamel. The deal applies to the ad-free model, while the version ‘with ads’ is slightly cheaper at £129.99.

The price drop comes as Amazon prepares for its latest Prime Big Deal Days event, which will see prices cut on thousands of items exclusively for Prime members from October 7-8. The retail giant has confirmed that shoppers will need a Prime membership to access these deals.

For those considering the Fire Max 11, the tablet boasts an 11″ screen with 2.4 million pixels, ensuring a high-quality display for streaming, gaming, or simply browsing the web. It features an aluminium body that Amazon describes as ‘as thin as a pencil’, yet claims it’s ‘three times as durable’ as the 10th-generation iPad.

The base model offers 64GB of internal storage for plenty of apps, music and photos, but shoppers can upgrade to the 128GB ad-free model for £179.99. Each version also includes 8MP front and rear cameras, perfect for clear video calls and 1080p HD videos. The device can operate for up to 14 hours based on how it’s used, and boasts security features including a fingerprint scanner.

You can find the same Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet at Argos for a similarly discounted price of £129.99.

For bargain-hunters eyeing Apple tablets without splashing the cash, Sky Mobile is flogging the 2025 iPad for £10.50 when you spread the payments.

Meanwhile, Android enthusiasts might fancy the fresh Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite or Samsung Galaxy Tab S11, both bundled with a complimentary Slim Book Cover Keyboard and tagged at £9 and £25 respectively. Yet the Fire Max 11 has charmed Amazon shoppers, bagging a 4.5-star rating from nearly 2,800 reviews, reports Wales Online.

One delighted buyer gushed: “The screen is something else, looks amazing, and I really like the wide aspect ratio. My son plays Roblox and Minecraft, these installed easily and work better than the iPad. I also installed parental controls and the Amazon Kids app, and these are also massively improved from previous generations. The tablet is fast, too. I have to say I’ve been so impressed I think I’m going to buy one for myself.”

Another raved: “This is the best one yet. The build quality has had a huge upgrade, and it feels more premium, comparable to a Samsung or iPad. Speed has taken a massive leap, and speakers are loud, clear and sound great. There’s now a fingerprint scanner built into the power button, which works flawlessly and is fast. This is without a doubt the best Amazon Fire tablet and is a more serious tablet for those after a premium device that will serve them well.”

One buyer expressed some minor complaints in their three-star review, stating: “This came as promised, but it does not have wireless charging. Also, there is no headphone jack, which I’m just a little disappointed about.”

In contrast, this glowing review exclaimed: “Wow, what a tablet. It is ultra thin, but with the all-metal case rather than a plastic shell, it isn’t much heavier than my previous 10″ model. The screen is crystal clear, with ultra-bright, sharp detail due to the much higher resolution screen and with the newer processor and more memory, it is super fast. It also holds its charge for so much longer than my previous tablet.”
