The controversial influencer is set to make his Misfits Boxing debut next month and seems to be taking preparations seriously after he was seen repping a black eye
Andrew Tate appears to be taking his Misfits Boxing debut seriously after he was seen sporting a black eye.
The former kickboxing world champion is set to take on actor-turned-boxer Chase DeMoor in Dubai on December 20 as the headline act of Misfits 23. The controversial influencer’s last outing in the kickboxing ring came five years ago when he stopped Cosmin Lingurar.
Tate, 38, faces a tough test on his debut as he is scheduled to take on the reigning heavyweight king under the Misfits banner. DeMoor claimed the heavyweight strap last year after a points victory over KELZ on the AnEsonGib vs Slim Albaher undercard. The American defended the gold strap earlier this year against Tank Tolman before yet another successful title defence back in August against Natan Marcon.
DeMoor’s last outing came back in September when he drew with Efrain Carranza Gonzalez. That said, ahead of his sixth fight this year, it is fair to say that the American boxer faces his toughest challenge yet in Tate. The 38-year-old is clearly leaving no stone unturned, admitting he has been training with several high-profile UFC legends. During a recent interview with iFL TV, Tate was seen donning a brutal black eye just weeks before his debut.
Tate admitted that some of his top-level sparring partners seemingly cause the damage to his left eye. “I am quite awkward, but we do have some high level competition. We have some UFC guys, some UFC veterans. A couple of them caught me with some shots (points to black eye), but that is what you need,” he said. “You need to constantly push yourself. Constantly challenge yourself, and I am lucky to have sparring which I believe is harder than my opponent for this camp which is actually a very good place to be.”
The social media star has made a real fortune over the years. Many within the boxing fraternity were left stunned after his debut was announced as the 38-year-old is seemingly set financially. Speaking about his move to the squared-circle, he revealed: “I think that is what youth is for. Youth is for the fact that you heal and you recover and time moves on. And, on your deathbed, you are always going to regret the things you did not do. You are not going to regret what you did do, irregardless of how it went. I have never regretted anything I have tried.
“I have never regretted any of the bad things or good things that ever happened to me. You only regret whether should have done it or should not have done it or what could have been. I am not a could have been guy. I know what could have been because i was there. I have a very comfortable life. I am very fortunate. I am from a Luton council estate and I have managed to make a whole bunch of money, but I am not a rich man. I am just Luton council estate guy with a whole bunch of money. So, sometimes you have got to go back to what you know, and that’s fighting.”

There is a lot of footage on DeMoor given his recent activity, and Tate is very much excited to get in the ring with the heavyweight behemoth. “I knew he was the heavyweight champion. I know he is big and I know he is active. I know he really believes in himself. I know he is younger than me,” he said. “On paper, in many ways, he should beat me. He is active, he is younger, he is bigger. He is the champion.
“And I like that, it excites me. I would hate to get in there with somebody who is a lot smaller than me or a lot older than me. That is not my intention. My intention is to get in there and for everyone to think that I do not really stand a chance because I have been out the game and thrown in and out of jail… and then shock the world. That is what I am looking to do.”
