Are you only as old as you feel? Discover your ‘real’ age with this quiz. Answer a series of questions about your lifestyle and how youthful you consider yourself to be and the quiz will reveal your ‘true’ age.

It comes after research discovered four in 10 Brits have fibbed about their age – with the typical person pretending to be four years younger. In fact, 26 per cent prefer to keep their age a secret from others. The survey of 2,000 adults showed 65 per cent have attempted to turn back the clock, whilst 81 per cent have add to their years to appear more grown-up.

When their birthday has come around, 19 per cent have lied about their actual age. Meanwhile, 17 per cent have played along with an age someone else has estimated.

According to the survey, 52 per cent believe others assume they are younger than they actually are. A

spokesperson from Funky Pigeon, which commissioned the research, said: “Whether it’s dialling back the clock or pushing it forward to sneak past a velvet rope, boost their confidence, or simply fit in with friends. It seems age really is just a number – at least the one you’re willing to admit to.”

How old are you really? Take the quiz to find out

The study discovered that people are most duped by others’ ages when they encounter them on dating apps, at parties or whilst travelling.

A whopping three quarters boast they have never been caught fibbing about their age, though 42 per cent confess they know someone whose age-related antics have been rumbled.

For sixteen per cent of those who have fibbed about their age have kept it up for more than six months.

A spokesperson from Funky Pigeon, said: “Whatever your age – or what you report it to be, what truly matters is making the most of every year.

“Birthdays are the one day a year that can be a celebration about you – so naturally when it’s someone else’s it’s always nice to make a fuss.

“Making that little bit of extra effort – whether you specify the age or not – can make all the difference.”
