Argos cuts the price of Samsung’s Tab A9 and A9+ models in rare sale

Whether it’s for catching up on a series, browsing the news, or helping with homework, a reliable tablet has become an everyday essential. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab devices are ideal for staying connected – and Argos is running a rare sale on the A9 and A9+ models.

Lightweight yet powerful, the brand says, the cheaper Galaxy Tab A9 on Argos has a crisp 8.7-inch screen and costs £99. It features a 2.2Ghz processor and 4 GB RAM specifications, which deliver smooth performance in a slim and travel-friendly design that’s just 8mm thick.

The built-in speaker is perfect for listening to music or watching YouTube, but the tablet can also be connected to Bluetooth headphones for private listening. With an 8MP rear-facing camera, the Tab A9 can also take care of holiday snaps.

Film fanatics might opt for the larger Galaxy Tab A9+. Its 11-inch screen provides extra space for viewing content, with split-screen functionality that supercharges productivity applications, the brand says.

Argos is currently selling the larger Tab A9+ for £159, with a significant £50 saving, Argos says. Its usual price is £209.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 8in 64GB Wi-Fi Tablet – Grey is available from Argos.

The built-in speaker is perfect for listening to music or watching YouTube, but the tablet can also be connected to Bluetooth headphones for private listening.

Both models come with 64 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD memory card, so there’s plenty of space for pictures, videos, and apps. Those sharing their Galaxy Tab with kids can enable a parental safety mode, too.

For alternatives, buyers might consider the Lenovo Tab One, available from Currys for £89.99, down from £129. An 8.7-inch HD screen and Dolby Atmos speakers make it ideal for enjoying movies and games, and it comes with an adjustable kickstand on the back for hands-free viewing.

Those needing a larger screen could get the Honor Pad 9, sold at Amazon for £179. The 12.1-inch display has a 120Hz refresh rate, which feels smoother and more responsive, the brand says, while an eight-speaker system delivers immersive audio.

Many buyers are pleased with their Samsung Galaxy Tab A9, which currently scores 4.7 out of five on Argos across over 450 reviews. One customer noted: “Very good tablet and a great price. Everything you need in a tablet.”

Another customer commented: “I got this tablet as a low-cost secondary device and have been pleasantly surprised at just how useful it is for the price. It’s genuinely snappy, allows me to play my games with no noticeable lag, and has a good battery life. I would definitely recommend this.”

The A9+ is also popular, scoring 4.6 out of five, from more than 700 reviews on Argos. Several customers purchased the device as an upgrade to an older model, with one saying: “Bought to replace an old Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet. Much quicker, good display, and responsive touch screen.”

One shopper experienced a minor bump in the road, saying: “Bought it to replace my A7 Lite, which was very slow. Really happy with the A9 as it works well. Easy to transfer everything and very soon had it up and running. The only negative thing is the SD card won’t work, and apparently this is a problem other people have found.”

Others commented about the battery on the larger A9+ version. One said: “Bought this to replace my other one, it’s okay apart from it occasionally switches itself off, plus battery life is not good.”
