The summer transfer window has officially started for Arsenal, who finally made their first signing on Tuesday. The Gunners announced the arrival of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for a reported £5million.

More deals are in the pipeline, too, with a pair of midfielders poised to follow Kepa through the Emirates door. Deals have been agreed for Brentford captain Christian Norgaard and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

Mikel Arteta is hoping that both of them will be signed in time to join up with the squad ahead of their pre-season tour of Asia. But fans won’t be truly satisfied until a striker is signed after months of speculation.

Talks over a move for Viktor Gyokeres have now reached an advanced stage, with Arsenal seemingly putting their interest in Benjamin Sesko aside in favour of the Sporting Lisbon star. Also, at the other end of the pitch, another a deal is also edging closer.

Here’s a round-up of the latest transfer news from the Emirates.

Mosquera rejects offer

Cristhian Mosquera has reportedly turned down the offer of a new contract with Valencia and told his club that he wants to join Arsenal instead. Mosquera, 21, has entered the final year of his current deal and was initially keen on extending his stay with the La Liga side.

But then came Arsenal’s interest and the centre-back now has his heart set on a move to north London, according to Las Provincas. Mosquera has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners, who saw their opening bid of £17.3million rejected last week.

Gunners legend plots raid

Genoa manager Patrick Vieira is said to be interested in signing three members of Arsenal’s squad. Having taken charge of the Serie A club last November, Gunners legend Vieira is preparing for his first summer transfer window at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, three Arsenal players are on his wish-list. Those are Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga, all of whom were loaned out last season.

Lyon name Fofana asking price

Lyon appear to have stuck a £51.5million price tag on rising star Malick Fofana, who’s been linked with a move to Arsenal. Fofana, 20, has also reportedly been the subject of interest from Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Napoli.

According to the Independent , Lyon hope that a bidding war breaks out following their relegation to Ligue 2 because of poor finances. The Belgium international scored 11 goals during his breakthrough season at Lyon.
