Aston Villa set to hand out new contracts amid Morgan Rogers talks

By staff21 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Aston Villa are in talks with a few players over signing new contracts and are reportedly locked in negotiations with England star Morgan Rogers over a fresh deal

17:08, 21 Oct 2025Updated 17:10, 21 Oct 2025

Aston Villa’s Matty Cash and John McGinn are expected to sign new contracts with the club. Both players’ current deals are set to expire at the end of next season, and they are among several players the club wants to reward with new contracts.

Cash made the move to Villa from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2020 and has since racked up 191 appearances for the club, while club captain McGinn has played 296 matches in all competitions following his move from Hibernian in 2018.

They have been standout performers for Villa so far this season, with Cash scoring the club’s first league goal of the season, before McGinn bagged against Bologna, Fulham and Feyenoord.

In the recent victory over Tottenham – Villa’s fifth consecutive win in all competitions – Cash delivered a stunning pass to Lucas Digne, who then found Emi Buendía to finish the move with a superb strike past Guglielmo Vicario.

Meanwhile, Everton showed strong interest in signing McGinn over the summer and even put in a bid to land him, but Villa turned down the offer.

Villa are also eager to secure Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans on new deals. Sky Sports report that Rogers is in the early stages of discussing a new contract with Villa.

In the summer, Villa handed out new deals to Tyrone Mings, Boubacar Kamara and Lucas Digne.
