The Aunt Bessie’s brand has shared its top tips for cooking roast potatoes more easily in a bid to help beat the ‘pressure of getting everything perfect’ when cooking a roast
Aunt Bessie’s has revealed the ideal way to cook the perfect batch of roast potatoes to accompany your Sunday roast.
Sunday roast is a British favourite, with families up and down the country putting their own twist on the ever popular dish. According to Aunt Bessie’s, every family has “their own way of making” them, with some opting to use “recipes passed down through the generations” while others choose to swap out the classic meats for “vegetarian and vegan options”.
The frozen food brand adds that while ‘everyone loves eating roast dinner’ there are a lot of people who struggle to cook it correctly. There are many home cooks who find the ‘pressure of getting everything perfect’ a real challenge. But, believe it or not, cooking a roast doesn’t have to be a nightmare – there are lots of ways you can make it easier for yourself.
Aunt Bessie’s explains that swapping fresh items for frozen can make things easier and said: “If you’re craving the comfort of a full roast with all the trimmings, but don’t know where to start, check out this easy roast dinner recipe using delicious Aunt Bessie’s ingredients.”
For perfectly cooked roast potatoes, Aunt Bessie’s recommends that you ‘preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas mark 5’, and then add foil spritzed with a small amount of olive oil to a baking tray.
Next, place the frozen roast potatoes onto the baking tray – alongside any other frozen items you’re cooking – and place them into the oven. Leave the roast potatoes in the oven for 30-35 minutes – or until they’re golden and crispy. Once your potatoes are cooked, you can then remove them from the oven and serve with the rest of your roast.
The frozen food brand also explains that for an even easier roast, you can cook Aunt Bessie’s Mini Roasties, Honey Glazed Roast Parsnips and Sage & Onion Stuffing Balls, along with the roast potatoes.
