Lace is having a major moment again, and this time it’s less bridal, more cool-girl chic. Spotted across the AW25 catwalks at designers like Valentino, Simone Rocha and Erdem, the delicate fabric is back with a modern edge. Think sheer lace blouses layered under sharp tailoring, intricate dresses toughened up with knee boots and subtle lace trims giving even the simplest pieces a touch of polish. And happily, the high street has taken note.

From H&M’s romantic midi dresses to New Look’s lace blouses that are perfect for a night out, there’s no shortage of affordable ways to work the trend. Boden has gone luxe with its embroidered lace tops that feel far pricier than they are, while Karen Millen has delivered the ultimate evening lace skirt that looks straight off the runway…

Lace look 1: Never Fully Dressed

Chocolate brown and pastel blue is this season’s prettiest colour combination, so invest in this set which ticks the autumn colour blocking and lace boxes.

Top £79

Skirt £99

Lace look 2: New Look

We love the idea of pairing a lace trimmed satin skirt with a simple button-up cardigan for a modern but feminine effect.

Cardigan £28.99

Skirt £26.99

Lace look 3: Next

Let the lace do all of the talking with a semi-sheer top like this one. Be bold and wear a bralette under, or cover up a tad with a tank top beneath,

Top £29

Jeans £29

Lace look 4: Karen Millen

Lace isn’t just for Halloween, but if you’re channelling a bit of Morticia Addams energy this season, we love this statement lace skirt from Karen Millen. Dress is down by wearing an oversized blazer or t-shirt over it.

Skirt £89

Blazer £129

Lace look 5: H&M

H&M has some gorgeous lace pieces this season, including this top and skirt co-ord with lace panelling. Wear them together for a coordinated look, or pair them with other items like a pair of jeans or a plain top for versatile look options.

Jacket £379.99

Top £27.99

Skirt £24.99
