Baby killer nurse Lucy Letby ‘loves Come Dine With Me’ and ‘hoards Maltesers in cell’

Baby murderer Lucy Letby is said to watch Channel 4 marathons of Come Dine With Me and collect packets of Maltesers in her cell, according to one prison insider

Baby killer nurse Lucy Letby binge-watches Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me and hoards packets of Maltesers in her prison cell, an insider has claimed.

The 35-year-old is currently serving multiple life sentences at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey after being convicted of murdering seven children and the attempted murders of seven others at the NHS Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016.

There, Letby is believed to be housed on Unit Four – a wing reserved exclusively for ‘enhanced inmates’ who are given special privileges for good behaviour, such as more visits, a TV in the cell, and the ability to wear some of their own clothes.

Now, one prison insider has offered an insight into Letby’s life inside the institution, including her reported fondness for reality TV show Come Dine With Me, which she is said to watch on the television set in her cell. The source told The Sun: “She’s in for the most horrific crimes but is a model prisoner.

“She engages in everything from unit cleaning and workshops and education. The only time she asks to go back to her cell is when a Come Dine With Me marathon is on. She absolutely loves it and can’t miss it.”

Letby is also said to hoard packets of Maltesers and Minstrels in her cell, which she reportedly pays for with cash sent by friends and family.

Sources inside the prison have previously claimed that Letby was upgraded to enhanced status over fears she would be at risk from attacks from other inmates.

“Lucy is reserved and very quiet, she isn’t really a problem with staff,” they said. “It grates with officers though – she’s committed the worst crimes possible and here she is on the enhanced unit with all the benefits that come with it. Again the real reason she is here is safety, she would be attacked on any other unit.”

The former nurse was handed 15 life sentences in August 2023 after one of the longest trials in recent history at Manchester Crown Court. She became only the fourth woman in British history to receive a whole life order, meaning she will never be released from prison. Letby has already lost two appeals against her sentences, and earlier this year barrister lodged a miscarriage of justice claim.
