Baby sees sheep for the first time and people left giggling over his reaction

By staff18 July 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

A mum was left in stitches after her baby boy expressed a variety of emotions after seeing a sheep “for the first time” after it sauntered onto a driveway in front of their home in Wales

A baby experienced a rollercoaster of emotions after encountering a sheep “for the first time”, and the adorable moment has had people in fits of laughter. Introducing babies to various age-appropriate – and safe – activities, colours, experiences and more aids their sensory development.

Parents and carers are urged to give babies chances for exploration, movement and play to ensure their progress. According to the NHS: “Sensory development relates to our senses, vision, hearing, touch, taste and smell which allow us to explore the world around us. Engaging our senses is a powerful way to engage our brain.” One mum, in Wales, spotted a chance to show her baby something new when she noticed a sheep wandering towards her driveway – and she filmed the encounter.

In the clip, mum Georgia can be seen carrying her one-year-old son Louie on her hip while the sheep loiters at the driveway entrance.

The sheep keeps its distance from the mother and child, simply hovering and remaining motionless. The mum then turns the camera around to capture her and Louie’s reaction.

Initially, the little boy appears puzzled as he gazes at the creature, but when the sheep lets out a loud bleat behind them, he clearly startles.

His bottom lip quivers as if he’s about to burst into tears, but he doesn’t after mum Georgia comforts him, before she erupts with laughter.

Over the top of the footage, the mum added the words: “POV – first time seeing a sheep” and in the caption accompanying the clip, she simply penned: “So funny”.

The video has since gone viral, amassing 15 million views and over two million likes.

In the comments section, viewers were quick to share their reactions. One user said: “Who watched it more than once?” alongside a slew of crying laughing emojis.

Scores of people confessed to replaying the video multiple times, insisting it gets “funnier each time”.

One viewer quipped: “He wanted to cry but remembered he is the only man there.”

Another joked: “So brave not to absolutely breakdown”.

Another TikTok user said: “He’s clutching your pearls” while another observed: “he went through so many stages to process the sheep”.

Someone shared their amusement: “He wasn’t expecting it to sound like that was he [two crying laughing emojis] bless him.”

Another joked: “Why is it on the street? Oh you’re in Wales”.

Another person said: “Scared, sad, disgusted, confused, betrayed, disappointed, offended, overwhelmed, spiritually attacked, emotionally drained, deeply concerned, and mildly offended again”.

Someone else added: “We have a soldier though. He keep his emotions together like a champ”.

It’s crucial for babies to encounter various emotions and experiences as part of their growth.

The NHS states: “90% of your child’s brain growth happens before the age of 5. Right from the start, all those little moments you spend together are building their brain.

“Every smile, cuddle, chat and game makes a huge difference, helping them learn to communicate, develop confidence and make friends.”
