Jamie Foxx’s partner and why he has never got married
Jamie was filming Back in Action in April 2023 when he was suddenly hospitalised after suffering a “medical complication”.
Foxx was unconscious in a hospital for weeks and the Oscar winner later revealed in a Netflix special Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was… he suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Foxx admitted that he “didn’t remember anything” about what had happened to him before he was hospitalised.
Sitting on the sofa with co-stars Cameron Diaz, Michelle Yeoh, and Jonathan Bailey, Jamie Foxx recounted his harrowing experience: “I didn’t remember anything happening so when I came to 20 days later I thought I was being pranked.
“It was beyond crazy. When I woke up, I found myself in a wheelchair. I couldn’t walk.”
Foxx continued, sharing a profound moment of reflection: “God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke.”
The doting dad opened up about his brush with death during his first Netflix stand-up special. In the special, he detailed the severity of his condition, including a brain bleed that led to a loss of several days’ memories.
He also spoke about the challenging journey of relearning basic life skills. Jamie underwent intensive rehabilitation in Chicago, spending weeks to regain his ability to walk.
Jamie Foxx’s personal life and vow never to get married
At 56, the acclaimed actor is romantically linked with Alyce Huckstepp, a 30-year-old ex-fitness model and businesswoman hailing from Australia.
In his candid 2021 memoir ‘Act Like You Got Some Sense’, Foxx expressed his reservations about marriage, stating: “I’ve just never been convinced that marriage was a good idea for me.”
He elaborated on his perspective by comparing the experiences of his friends, concluding that marriage wasn’t essential for providing a nurturing environment for his children.
