With the Strictly Come Dancing grand final this Saturday, we asked Mirror readers which star-studded celebrity they would like to see lift the Glitterball – and the results are in
After nearly 13 weeks of fabulous foxtrots and raunchy rumbas, the Strictly Come Dancing stars will take to the ballroom for the final time on Saturday night – and it appears the winning couple has already been sealed.
Battling it out for the coveted Glitterball trophy are JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, and Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, but only one pair will be crowned the series 20 champion. The grand final will see each couple perform three times in a bid to impress the judges and viewers at home, and the dance line-up has now been confirmed.
JLS star JB will take to the stage with a Showdance to Motown medley, Viennese Waltz to Let’s Go Fly a Kite from Mary Poppins, and Samba to Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes. Comedian Chris will also present a Showdance to You Get What You Give by New Radicals, as well as a Couple’s’ Choice to Instant Karma (We All Shine On) by John Lennon, and Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Miranda icon Sarah will put her best foot forward with a Showdance to Cabaret by Metropole Orkest, American Smooth to Proud by Heather Small, and the Cha Cha to Like a Prayer by Madonna. Finally, Love Island star Tasha will perform a Showdance to Sing, Sing, Sing by Benny Goodman, Couple’s Choice routine to What About Us by P!nk, and American Smooth to Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi.
With the show-stopping final just hours away, we asked Mirror readers who they would like to be crowned King or Queen of the ballroom – and one name has stormed the poll. Around 10,266 people have placed their votes, and a whopping 5,313 said they would like to see Chris crowned on Saturday night.
Taking to X to voice their thoughts, one fan gushed: “Just give Chris McCausland the glitterball trophy NOW. Not only is he inspirational he is incredible keep voting for him strictly family. Chris and Dianne for the WIN.”
Another echoed: “Really rooting for Chris & Dianne. Hoping they make it all the way to the final & win. So impressive to do those lifts without being able to see & then the little extra flourish at the end. Utterly fab-u-lous!!”
“I used to think #Strictly was about being the best dancer. I was wrong, what Chris brings to this show is pure joy. Every performance he does is just jaw dropping, the effort he puts in must be insane. I vote every week and would LOVE to see him and Dianne win,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, Sarah scooped 23 per cent of votes, as one fan wrote: “Sarah for the win! Just give her that trophy already,” as another agreed: “Glad vito and Sarah are through my choice to win and we all need a Vito in our life he is such a wonderful person no surprise he has made it to 3 finals he is a amazing dancer and teacher.”
In third place on our poll is Tasha, who raked in 15 per cent of votes, as one fan posted: “I could watch Tasha dance all night. She’s my winner. Beautiful,” as a second praised: “Tasha is so incredibly graceful. What a beautiful waltz. She deserves to be in the final.”
And JB found himself at the bottom of our poll after achieving just 10 per cent of votes, however many fans have shared their support for the singer on social media. “I want JB to win!! Wonderful dancer,” as another hailed: “Just when you thought JB & Lauren couldn’t get any better – JB SUPER SIZES!
“His Paso and delivers an exceptional Salsa. For me this was his best dance.
