A Flymo lawnmower described as ‘a beast’ has been praised by shoppers for cutting through weeds and grass ‘like butter’. The foldable tool is on sale at Amazon for £99.99, beating a rival retail price from Argos, where it is offered for £125.

Flymo’s EasiMow has a 34cm cutting width and 20-60mm cutting height. It is also equipped with a 1400W motor and a large 35-litre grass box.

It also has a 10-metre cable so users can move around the garden with ease, and dual-lever handles for easy use.

Returning to Flymo’s EasiMow, another Amazon shopper added, “Excellent product. As this is my first lawnmower, I don’t have anything to compare it to.

“My lawn was overgrown for over a year, and this made light work of very tall weeds and grass. I had to set it to the highest setting, but it went through it like butter. It is doing a good job.”

Equipped with a large 35 litre grass box meaning less time spent emptying grass clippings

One Amazon reviewer described it as ‘a beast’, continuing: “This machine ploughs through whatever is in front of it, brambles, dockens etc. I am used to smaller motors.

“Had I known that 1600W did the job like this machine, I would have bought it long ago.”

The same user also reported downsides: “Having the 1600W motor makes it so much heavier. Being so big, it is harder to manoeuvre in a small to medium garden.

“The handle height is more suited to someone who is about 7ft tall rather than 5ft4. This, of course, affects how you control it, and I also kept losing the proper grip to keep it running.

Other than this, it will do what you want with a garden that is even pretty overgrown or has hardy weeds in it.”

There are alternatives available, including this Corded Rotary Lawnmower at B&Q for £35, which was £59. Its cutting width is ideal for small to medium gardens, and it has a 27L grass collection box.

Elsewhere, this Bosch UniversalRotak is £89 at Wickes. The grass combs automatically cut clean edges along flowerbeds, walls, and walkways.
