‘Beautiful’ alternative to Center Parcs offers cut price family holidays for Easter

By staff22 March 2025No Comments5 Mins Read

With breaks from as little as £205 for a seven-night stay in France, a hop across the Channel is cheaper than staying at home

The Easter school holidays offer the perfect chance to enjoy a few days away together somewhere close to home. However, despite our trademark British determination, the reality is that the weather in the UK can’t always be relied on to not make the spring break a total washout.

Holiday villages like Center Parcs offer top-tier accommodation and weather-proof activities all year round. But all that convenience comes at a price. A seven night stay at the Whinfell Forest park will cost a family of four £2448 on April 7, while a week at Elveden Forest is £2948.

For those looking for a more affordable staycation option, just across the Channel lies a cheaper alternative. With plenty to see and do, Eurocamp Holidays offers over 400 park locations across Europe, including many just a short journey away in Northern France.

Far removed from the shabby caravans and obligatory entertainment some may expect from a holiday park, Eurocamp offers value for money with accommodation, activities, food and drink all under one roof. The go-to for camping holidays in France since the 70s, the parks offer indoor and outdoor pools, fishing lakes and activities located close to historic French towns and mile upon mile of sandy coastline.

If a hop across the Channel isn’t for you, Haven are offering a seven night Easter breaks in Skegness from £519 on April 7, while Parkdean has seven night breaks in Cornwall from £399.

A stay at a Eurocamp site can cost up to half the price of a UK holiday, even when you factor in ferry crossings from the UK to Northern France. We’ve rounded up three of the closest Eurocamp resorts to the UK, perfect for a last minute getaway.

Château de Lez Eaux, St Pair-sur-mer, Normandy

Journey down the main route of the Cherbourg peninsula to Château de Lez Eaux, a peaceful and welcoming park set around a charming primrose-coloured manor house.

With excellent facilities, the park features a fantastic indoor water park with two large indoor/outdoor waterslides. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck at the on-site lake for free, while summer visitors can enjoy a unique local market held on-site every Tuesday.

Sleeping four to a two bedroom lodge, prices start from £205 for a seven stay on April 5.

Riva Bella, Ouistreham, Normandy

Set along the Normandy coastline, Riva Bella offers family-friendly fun with a pool complex featuring waterslides, a children’s pool, and a heated indoor pool. Kids can enjoy the mini farm with pygmy goats and chickens, while nearby beaches provide scenic coastal escapes. The on-site kids’ club keeps little ones entertained with arts, crafts, and sports, while families can dine at the restaurant and enjoy evening shows.

Perfect for exploring Normandy, the park is just 25 minutes from Cabourg’s beaches and boutiques, 45 minutes from Deauville’s casino and cafés, and close to Honfleur’s charming harbour for seafront strolls and ice cream.

Sleeping four to a two bedroom lodge, prices start from £331.87 for a seven on April 5.

La Vallée, Houlgate, Normandy

La Vallée is one of the region’s top parks located in a peaceful rural setting just moments from the coast, surrounded by flowering hedges and fruit trees. The park boasts fantastic facilities, including thrilling waterslides, a jungle-themed Spray Park and indoor and outdoor pools.

For non-stop fun, kids can join exciting club sessions, while parents can take part in family fun activities. After a day of swimming or exploring the nearby D-Day landing beaches, unwind with entertainment that takes place on the park stage.

Sleeping four to a two bedroom lodge, prices start from £368.96 for a seven stay on April 7.

Guests who have already enjoyed a stay at a Eurocamp holiday park have left plenty of reviews on TripAdvisor. A holiday maker who stayed at La Vallée said: “Great site, friendly staff and everything you need to make a holiday easy, good location, nice restaurant and bar.”

Another who holidayed at the Château de Lez Eaux loved the place, saying: “This is an absolutely beautiful campsite, with lovely large pitches surrounded by mature trees and the old chateau and out buildings. Definitely the prettiest campsite we’ve been in.”

Sadly, not every visitor was quite so impressed with one family not happy with the accommodation. they said: “This is not a 4 star camping site as advertised. The pitch was not at all private and the shower and toilet facilities were very poor.”

Most visitors to the Eurocamps parks were delighted. One exclaimed: “I just came back from lovely stay at Riva Bella campsite. My kids and I loved everything there. Water Park was amazing. Cabin was very nice and clean. Entertainment team was brilliant. Pizza – very delicious.”
