It’s brilliant, very satisfied.”
Sadly one reviewer wasn’t impressed, as they noted: “The Air Stretch is heavy, the handle is at a fixed high height and the cable is too long. Dangerous trip hazard.”

Amazon Basics Cylinder Bagless Vacuum Cleaner – £49.99
With over 10,400 reviews and an overall score of 4.4 out of five, this Amazon Basics vacuum is a popular choice for shoppers on a budget. The 700W gadget has a capacity of 1.5L and has smooth-rolling wheels for easy manoeuvrability and an adjustable hose.

Labelled an Amazon’s Choice product, one satisfied buyer awarded it five stars and wrote: “This little hoover was very inexpensive so I wasn’t expecting a lot, but I was so wrong. It’s amazing, really great suction and so easy to use. I love the fact that the metal pipe is extendable, being a tall person it’s ideal. Lots of tools. I would thoroughly recommend this product.”
Unfortunately someone else was left disappointed, as they explained: “The vacuum cleaner performed very well initially, but after a few uses I noticed a decline in its suction power and overall efficiency. The pipe and handles are made of low-quality materials and feel quite fragile.”

Shark Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner – £129
Over 3,000 Amazon shoppers bought this Shark vacuum cleaner last month, so it’s clearly a popular choice. The 750W upright vacuum has an eight metre cord, a capacity of 1.1L and can be transformed into a portable vacuum.
It has two floor modes – carpet and hard floor – and has an anti-allergen complete seal which captures ‘99.9 percent of dust and allergens’. The vacuum comes with a crevice tool and an upholstery tool, and has handy LED headlights. It can also be bought with a pet tool.

Unfortunately some buyers did note some issues, with one shopper explaining: “It certainly collects well from the carpets and other floorings, but the manoeuvrability, on whatever surface and whichever setting, is abysmal.”
Someone else disagreed, as their five-star review reads: “A brilliant machine. Simple to click together and take apart. Great suction. Picks up much more than my previous one. It’s obvious when the dust cup is full and needs emptying. Easy to use… Wish I’d ditched my other one earlier.”

Henry Pet PET200 Bagged Cylinder Vacuum – £149
One of the most highly-rated pet vacuums on Amazon is this Henry gadget. The 620W vacuum has a large 9L capacity and has all the features of the Henry ‘you know and love’, plus extra pet friendly elements.
The gadget has a charcoal activated MicroFresh filter which tackles lingering pet odours, while the innovative self-seal tab locks all the dust in the bag, meaning mess-free emptying. The Henry Pet Vacuum has a brilliant overall score of 4.7 out of five, with 82% of reviewers awarding it five stars.
The Mirror’s Nisha Mal recently reviewed the gadget and said: “Overall, I am really impressed with its suction power; it is very powerful, more so than my Shark. I am interested in seeing how it will stand the test of time.
“The one downside is its awkward shape and cord. The Henry Pet gets trapped on every corner and bend, which is not ideal when you’re going from room to room. It isn’t easy to manoeuvre, and for this, it loses points.”

SMOTURE Cordless Vacuum Cleaner – £159.99
Last but by no means least is this 550W SMOTURE cordless vacuum cleaner which offers 60 minute battery run time. Labelled an Amazon’s Choice product, the gadget is one of the few cordless options that can stand up on its own if you need a rest, and comes with a wall-mounted charging point.

Over 600 Amazon customers have reviewed the cordless vacuum to date, with it boasting a fabulous overall rating of 4.8 out of five. One thrilled buyer said: “Bought this to replace a Vax corded vacuum. It’s ideal for quickly running over the carpets to pick up dog hair and vacuuming the stairs. Nice and light, so much easier to use this than the corded vacuum.”
However, the vacuum hasn’t pleased everyone, as another reviewer explained: “I have a dog and it does pick up some of the pet hair but not much. The battery quickly dies.”
