The bin is currently priced at £33.99, down from £63.54, saving shoppers a hefty 47%. It comes in ink black or sand beige for the same price, with varying discounts, up to 33%, on their cloud white, metallic silver, midnight blue and slate grey colours.

With a stainless steel body, non-slip pads, and practical inner-bucket, the brand says this bin offers ‘hassle-free disposal’, and it also features extra side handles on the inner-bucket with a bin bag securing hole. The steel body is also rust-resistant, tested over 2,216 ratings with an average score of 4.6 out of five.

Shoppers are praising the ‘soft close’ feature on the pedal-operated lid, ‘designed for a quiet, slow close’, according to the brand. The lid can also be opened to 90 degrees to lock it in place for longer tasks.

Alternatively, savvy shoppers looking to save on a similar design could look at Dunelm’s Addis 50L Pedal Bin which is currently priced at £4.50, down from £18, saving shoppers a huge 75%. With a bigger capacity than the SONGMICS Kitchen Bin, 8-Gallon (30 L) Trash Bin at 50L, it comes with Addis’ 10-year guarantee and features a similar pedal-operated lid.

Buyers needing extra organisation for recycling could also look at Argos’ offering of the Habitat 30 Litre Twin Compartment Recycling Bin, priced at £46. Rated at an average of 4.8 out of five over 561 reviews, it’s made of stainless steel and has the same capacity as the SONGMICS Kitchen Bin, but split into two compartments.

Shoppers of the SONGMICS Bin, at Amazon have been impressed with its high quality. One review said: “This is the waste bin I didn’t know I needed. It looks good – sleek and stylish, it’s a nice shape, easy to use with a foot pedal which means not having to touch the lid, it has a soft close lid so no unexpected loud noise. Weight is perfect, it’s light but sturdy. I wouldn’t normally have spent as much but it’s metal rather than plastic, well designed and holds more than our previous bin and looks so much better. Money well spent.”

Another added: “Good quality, lovely colour and modern looking. Compact size but without being too small. Just perfect for us!”

Works great, looks good, and arrives securely packaged. The only minor issue is that it’s matte black which shows dust and hard water spots really easily.”

Another buyer said: “Good size and fits well in my space. I love the colour. The only negative is that my dog can open it as the lid is light.”
