Though Amazon is the place to shop right now for great discounts, as their Spring Deals Week gets underway, the Meta Quest VR headset can be snatched up for an even lower price at Argos
As the Amazon Spring Deals Week rolls out, shoppers may be surprised to know that when it comes to gaming content, Amazon may not be the cheapest place to shop. Unlike Black Friday and Prime Day sales, this Amazon deals event hasn’t seen large discounts applied to name-brand consoles and gaming peripheries, as most stay at their full price. But, if you’ve been considering stepping into the world of VR gaming, there is one place to shop for a more budget-friendly cost, where you can save £100.
Players new and experienced in VR can now get their hands on one of the most cost-effective headsets on the market, the Meta Quest 3S 128GB, at an even lower price than Amazon as it’s axed below £300 at Argos – and what’s more, this gem comes with a handful of freebies.
You’ll be able to pick up the Meta Quest 3S 128GB from Argos for £289.99, lower than Amazon’s price of £389.99. The bundle for the headset will also come with a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadow and a three-month subscription to Meta Quest+ (which combined has a value of £60), which will offer you access to a library of titles, including Asgard’s Wrath 2, Fruit Ninja and Walkabout Mini Golf. This deal applies to the headset’s 128GB storage option, but the model also comes in a bigger 256GB version for a slightly higher price.

The Meta Quest 3S offers gameplay in a high-definition resolution of 1832×1920 pixels per eye and 128GB of storage, compared to the Meta Quest 3’s 4K resolution and 512 GB. However, the 3S features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and the same white shell as the Quest 3, making its cheaper price point all the more enticing.
Our hardware expert Jasmine Mannan said in her review that when it comes to mixed reality experiences like using the headset’s YouTube or WhatsApp apps, “a mixed reality headset is never going to look the same as real life, but the Meta Quest 3S did a pretty good job at replicating that”, but the headset can be a little fiddly when it comes to adjusting its lenses, as “the adjustment process is now replicating the laborious, remove the headset, slide the lenses, put the headset back on that we found with the Meta Quest 2. Meta had to find a way to cut costs somewhere, but this is a bit annoying.”

Heaps of games are waiting for you on the Meta Quest 3S, including some of the most critically acclaimed VR titles on the market. It’s a great way to get stuck into truly immersive gaming, especially if you’re a fan of the Batman Arkham series of games. If you were looking for your chance to become the night, this is it. And let’s be honest, you won’t say no to the chance to be Batman.
This headset has a built-in microphone and Bluetooth connectivity for those looking to game online with friends. It can connect to your console via USB-C and wireless. The headset has a 2-hour battery life and the slight drawback of a 135-minute charging time. That said, the Meta Quest 3S is completely wireless, reducing risks while immersing yourself in Gotham from the comfort of your home.
You can pick up the Meta Quest 3S 128GB headset from Currys and Very for the same price as Argos, at £289. If you fancy bagging the Meta Quest 3, the higher-end model, you can pick it up for £359.99 from Argos and Amazon.
