A total lunar eclipse was visible in the night sky last night – with parts of Asia experiencing the best of the stunning celestial spectacle.
The “blood moon” turned a deep, dark red as the Earth passed directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting the shadow of the earth against the Moon’s surface.
It was the first time it was visible in the UK since 2022, with parts of the country catching a decent glimpse as clear skies reigned overhead.
Countries in the Middle East and Europe enjoyed great views of the eclipse, but Asia had the best seats in the house.
Unlike solar eclipses, this one was visible to the naked eye. It was also safe to glare directly at as the reflected light of the moon is not as damaging as the sun.
