When do Boxing Day sales start?
The answer to this might seem obvious, but it has changed over the years. Traditionally, Boxing Day sales started first thing in the morning on 26 December, the day after Christmas Day, however nowadays many retailers will drop deals on their websites earlier, on Christmas Day, Christmas Eve, or even as early as now. This means that there is a chance you could be able to save on some of your last-minute Christmas shopping if you’ve still got gifts to buy.
Major retailers that already have pre-Christmas sales live include Amazon, Ninja and Boots; read on to see our pick of the best savings.
Which retailers will be having Boxing Day sales?
We don’t know for certain yet exactly every store, website and brand that will be dropping their prices on 26 December (or earlier) but we’re sure that plenty of them will be, including big name brands across fashion, beauty, tech and homeware.
Next and John Lewis’s Boxing Day sales are traditionally one of the most popular ones with shoppers, and tech and appliance retailers such as Currys and Argos are worth looking at too, as a way of saving money on expensive items.
In addition to its current pre-Christmas sale running until 22 December, we’re sure that Amazon will be slashing plenty of its prices after Christmas too.

When will Boxing Day sales end?
In the past, the Boxing Day sales typically lasted for one day only, ending when the stores shut at the end of the day on 26 December. These days, however, they run on for longer, usually up to New Year’s Eve, and sometimes even into January.
Retailers won’t always say how long you’ve got to shop their sales, however, and stock could sell out, so we don’t recommend waiting too long to shop if you’ve got your eye on something.
Are prices cheaper on Black Friday or Boxing Day?
A lot of the Boxing Day sales will be comparable to the savings you’ll have seen on Black Friday, although the latter tends to have slightly better (and more) deals, as stores compete to target those shopping for Christmas presents.
If you did miss out on a deal at Black Friday though, then the Boxing Day sales are another great chance to shop – without having to wait 11 months for Black Friday to come around again…
