Corey Beavis, 28, was killed in a motorbike crash in Thailand at the weekend, leading to heart breaking tributes from his family at home in Barry, Wales, as a fundraiser earned thousands
A popular Brit who lived life “ten times his wildest imagination” has been killed in a motorbike crash in Thailand.
Corey Beavis, 28, died in the tragedy on Saturday, causing heartache back home in Barry, Wales. His family said in a statement they have suffered “immeasurable loss” in the wake of the crash.
It is currently unknown what caused the accident. His family said: “On Saturday we received the devastating news our beautiful boy lost his life following a motorcycle accident. Corey lit up any room he walked into with his larger than life character and his infectious laugh. He had so much left to give this world, but also lived a life 10 times beyond his wildest imagination.
“He was a real genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him. As a family we’ve suffered immeasurable loss and now have to face the realities of repatriation and laying our beautiful boy to rest.” They added Corey did not have travel or life insurance and launched a fundraising page to earn £35,000 to cover costs. It quickly raised £36,000.
One person who donated to the page wrote: “Let’s get you home where you belong with your family mate. Thinking of Liam,Joel,Jeff, Shelly and the whole family at this very sad time may you rest in peace my friend Cor.” Another added: “Heartbreaking news. Fly high young Corey, sending all our love and support to you.”
Corey’s twin brother, Liam, told BBC Wales : “”[He] lived life to the fullest and I’m glad we did it together. I will struggle to find a way to deal with this pain for the rest of my life, but I promise I will make you really proud. Rest easy big man, see you on the other side. From the womb to the world. Now I’ll take him on my journey whilst he’s watching over me, absolutely smashing it for him like he’d want me to. This has changed me forever.”
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it was supporting the family of a British man who died in Thailand and are in contact with the authorities.
