Paul Wrigglesworth, 60, has been missing since making a call from the Big Ben pub in Avenida Juan Carlos, Tenerife on December 16 – his family are urging people to come forward with any information
A British dad has been missing for 14 days after making a last phone call from a pub.
Paul Wrigglesworth went missing two weeks ago while on holiday in Tenerife. According to local sources, the 60-year-old last had contact with his family while FaceTiming them from the Big Ben pub in Avenida Juan Carlos. The call took place on December 16, and Paul’s phone has been offline since December 22. His family say they are worried that he may be sleeping rough on the beach or possibly in caves.
The 60-year-old arrived in Tenerife at the end of November. His son, Mark Wrigglesworth, said: “Anyone with any news about my dad, good or bad, please get in touch.”
An appeal has also been launched by a local missing persons group. Anyone with information on Paul’s whereabouts is urged to contact Missing Persons Tenerife. The Mirror has approached the Foreign Office for comment.
Last month, a Brit who went missing after flying off to Tenerife to meet a friend was found safe. Kris Finney, from Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester, jetted off to the Canary Islands resort on Thursday 31 October and then went off the radar later that day. The 31-year-old electrician spoke to his mum to confirm he had landed, but he did not meet his friend who he had arranged to see.
He was found the following Monday and spoke to his family, including his aunt Debbie. It’s understood the UK Foreign Office spoke with local police in Tenerife to enquire into Kris’ disappearance.
Debbie told the BBC: “We are so relieved. We were sick with worry. He told me his phone had broken and he had no money or way of getting in touch with us.”
“It is such a relief that he has been located. A woman shopkeeper found him and took him in. We’re so happy.”
