Brit gamer watches in shock as friend stabbed to death in horror murder

By staff22 August 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

A British gamer watched as his online friend was murdered during a game in her home, 1,000 miles away from him, in Finland in a horror attack

A British gamer watched in shock as his online friend was knifed to death in her home as he watched the horror crime unfold on his screen.

The unidentified man was playing online with his 32-year-old Finnish pal for around 10 hours but heard her window being smashed. The helpless man asked his friend if she had locked her door and later told police he heard the intruder speak Finnish through the game. The Brit then sent an email to police in the southeastern town of Puumala at 5am, local time, on April 23 to report the horror incident from 1,000 miles away.

Cops reportedly found the woman dead when they visited her home the next day and launched an investigation into her death. Her neighbours also said they heard the woman screaming on the night she died, according to police documents released after the case was closed.

Police looking into the horror death said the killer drove about 30 miles north of the crime scene, to the town of Juva, where he set a barn on fire.

A neighbour who spotted the blaze headed out to investigate and said they saw they the man walking out of the barn and towards the neighbour with his arms wide open. Paramedics rushed to the barn fire and took the man to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Finnish Criminal Inspector Marfa Raipela, who led the investigation, revealed the man was unknown to the cops before the horror murder and said the crime was no being investigated as a terror offence.

The police investigation found the murderer drove from his home in Imatra, close to the Russian border, and around 66km north to Puumala, the day before the murder. Raipela said the killer did not meet anyone in the town before the shocking crime.

Cops believe that the killer chose to murder the woman at her home as it was accessible and the only property with the lights on at the time. Police however have not established a motive behind the shocking crime.

Finnish police have since closed case as the only suspect in the horror crime is dead.
