The 52-year-old British holidaymaker was found dead after neighbours heard a loud thud after he checked into the Casa Vista Hotel in Belize on Monday
A British holiday maker has died has died after checking into a hotel with neighbours reporting a loud thud.
The 52-year-old man arrived at Caye Caulker island in Belize on Monday and had checked into the Casa Vista Hotel. Within 24 hours of his arrival, his neighbours reported a loud thud.
When they wen to check on the man, they found him lying unconscious on the ground. The man was then rushed to the Caye Caulker Health Center.
Despite efforts to save him, the man died later that evening. Police said an investigation had been launched into the circumstances around his death.
The Sun reported officer Stacy Smith said: “On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, police officers attached to the Caye Caulker formation visited the Caye Caulker Health Clinic as a consequence of a report made of an unconscious male person therein.
“He succumbed to injuries that were observed on his body later that evening. What we have been able to ascertain so far is that several persons in the area heard a sound, and upon making inquiries, they observed him on the ground and subsequently rushed him to the clinic for treatment.”
It is not yet clear how the man sustained his injuries. The tragedy comes after a British man was found dead in the Mediterranean island of Malta.
