A woman called Sheralee recently visited Majorca for a family holiday and couldn’t believe what she saw at the hotel at 10am one morning, finding it both hilarious and baffling
Going on holiday is one of life’s pleasures for many people and leads to long-lasting memories. You never know what you’ll come across when exploring a new country, especially when staying at a hotel filled with other guests.
A mum and wife named Sheralee experienced this first-hand when she travelled to Majorca for a family holiday. The tourist shared that she had “never seen anything so funny in my life” when she got up for the day while staying at the Sol Barbados hotel last month. Sheralee shared a video on TikTok and repeatedly told viewers to “please look” at the scene she was seeing while likely filming the video from her hotel room.
The Brit captured a “sunbed war” as it unfolded and as you can imagine, this isn’t the first or only story about sunbed wars that has been reported during the summer months.
Sheralee couldn’t help but laugh at the situation and at the beginning of the video she said: “Girls, watch this. I’ve never seen anything like it in my whole life. Watch how they all run for the sun loungers, please watch.”
She caught a long queue of guests on camera waiting by the pool to secure a sunbed at 10am. As the gate opened, the tourists were seen running to the sunbeds placed around the main pool and children’s swimming pool.
The tourist branded it as “scandalous” and shared that she has “never known anything like it in my whole life.”
The one-minute clip showed how quickly the sunbeds filled up and the rush to get one to relax by the pool, as many holiday-goers staying at beach resorts often do.
More than 2,300 TikTok users have liked the post and it has amassed 549 comments, so far.
One user said: “Shocking, [I] would rather sit on the floor.” Another stated: “May this kind of vacation never find me.”
A third commented: “That’s hilarious. I don’t stay around the pool long enough to need a lounger, holidays are for exploring, not lying round the pool all day.”
However, others found humour in the situation. A different user chimed in: “Ready steady go!!…Should be an Olympic event.”
A second observed: “The wee girl flew across there like Usain Bolt.” A third viewer added: “Some people don’t get this is actually part of the holiday fun.”
In response to another comment, Sheralee shared that it was a “mad rush” for the first couple of minutes and then calmed down.
She noticed that it was “not as bad” as her holiday went on and described the hotel as “fab.” Giving a possible solution to sunbed wars, another user claimed: “Sunrise Oasis Water Park in Protaras allocates two beds per room and bean bag beds for kids. Absolute game changer!”
