Cristina can be seen slowly moving to the edge of the bungee drop before having a sudden change of heart – the instructor decided to push her off anyway and has been criticised on social media
A bungee jump instructor has been slammed online as footage shows him pushing a woman from a bridge, despite her repeatedly saying “no” and screaming.
The footage has been viewed more than four million times online and shows Cristina Amaro Priego slowly moving to the edge of the drop. She’s seen screwing her face in terror despite the bungee instructor holding onto her.
She makes it clear that she no longer wants to go ahead with the jump, saying “no” over and over again. The man is heard speaking in a bid to reassure her, placing a selfie stick in her hand so that she can record her jump.
He then puts both of her hands in front of her and holds onto her with his arms. Despite Cristina continuing to scream, the instructor pushes her forward and lets go.
Cristina is heard screaming in panic as she swings above the river underneath the bridge – but she soon appears to be enjoying herself, and can be seen smiling while still screaming. The footage was filmed close to Seville in Spain and was shared online last month.
Despite what appears to be a happy ending, the clip has generated backlash from viewers criticising the instructor’s decision to push Cristina. One person fumed: “She said no, why did he push her?” Another added: “She could have had a heart attack while falling, it’s dangerous.” A third said: “If she regrets it and doesn’t want to… why force her.”
But others saw the funny side, with one writing: “The guy enjoys his job, it’s spectacular.” A second said: “In truth, it is good, because the more you think about it the less you feel like throwing yourself away.” Cristina herself saw the funny side too, writing in the caption: “I was told I won the year’s screaming award.”
