Charming bungalow could be perfect family home – but comes with grim warning

A stunning property with a large garden and spacious drive has been put up sale for the first time in six years – estate agents have shared a warning for people interested in the home

A charming and cute bungalow is up for sale and could be the perfect family home but it comes with a chilling warning.

The £425,000 property sits beautifully inside the Lincolnshire village of Branston and is described as a “generously sized four bedroom detached bungalow”. It could be most buyers’ dreams and was also dubbed a “rare opportunity” as the spacious home comes with a substantial plot of land but buyers have been warned about the property’s dark history. The estate agent has even warned potential buyers and said they are “advised to contact the agent for further information regarding the property’s history, as this may influence their purchasing decision”.

This bungalow is the spot where a double murder took place and the property is on sale for the first time in six years. Inside the village home, Andrei-Mihai Simion-Munteanu killed his mother and her partner. Dr Premm Monti was strangled to death before Robert Tully was killed by being bludgeoned around the head with a hammer.

Despite the chilling past, agents Pygott & Crone in a Rightmove listing describe the pros of this home, saying: “Tucked back from the road, the property enjoys a good degree of privacy and features ample outdoor space. Internally, the accommodation includes a welcoming entrance hallway, a spacious lounge and a bright conservatory that opens onto the rear garden.

“The fitted kitchen/diner also has a conveniently located utility just off it. There are four well-proportioned bedrooms, with an ensuite shower room to the main bedroom and a family bathroom. The layout is versatile, providing flexibility for home working or guest accommodation as needed.”

The village home also comes with a large, mature garden and a detached single garage and driveway. The agents added that the interior could need some modernising or tweaking to fit personal style.

It was inside the house that Dr Monti and Mr Tully suffered their final moments. On the evening of July 29, 2019, Simion-Munteanu, 22, attacked his psychiatrist mother, calling her to his bedroom to tell her that he had a surprise massage for her.

While the 51-year-old lay face down on the bed, he covered her mouth with an oven glove and then strangled her with the crook of his elbow. Six hours later, Mr Tully, 71, suffered a similar fate, dying from a traumatic head injury after Simion-Munteanu smashed him over the head at least half a dozen times.

The 22-year-old claimed he had been in the grip of a psychotic delusion but a jury rejected his claims, finding him guilty of murder. Sentencing him to life with a minimum term of 32 years, Mr Justice Pepperall said: “Your fascination with extremely violent internet footage of accidents, suicides and terrorist beheadings taken together with your conviction that there was no meaning or value to life, led you to wonder whether you would yourself be capable of murder.

“In reaching that view, I am fortified by your remark to the police upon your arrest that you wanted to see if you could do it.

“In my judgment, such thoughts combined with your feelings of worthlessness arising from your difficulties with social interaction and the prospect that your university career appeared set to end in failure, and your disproportionate sense of grievance at minor upsets, lead you to become a killer.”
