As autumn arrives with its chilly air, cosy atmosphere and festive vibes, bargain hunters throughout the UK are hunting for budget-friendly ways to embrace the time of year.

From ghoulish decorations to autumnal essentials, there’s nothing quite like finding your favourite seasonal goodies at an excellent price before winter arrives.

And this year, one product particularly is flying from the shelves: pumpkins.

Whether you like sipping a pumpkin-spiced latte, creating a warming soup, or carving a frightening masterpiece for Halloween, this seasonal favourite is always very popular.

But with fruit and vegetable costs rocketing, many people will be wondering where you can buy the cheapest pumpkins.

And it seems one retailer has claimed the title for the UK’s most affordable autumn essential just in time for Halloween, reports the Express.

Aldi has officially secured the title as cheapest supermarket to purchase the autumn favourite, beating the likes of Sainsbury’s and Tesco on cost.

A spokesperson from the supermarket said: “(Aldi is) offering families unprecedented savings of up to a staggering 74% on their Halloween pumpkins!

“As the cost of living continues to bite, Aldi is swooping in to save Halloween, making sure no family misses out on the fun of carving and decorating.”

Aldi’s large pumpkins are currently priced at just £1.59, an impressive 55% more affordable than Waitrose’s, whilst its extra-large pumpkins cost only £2.39, saving customers 61p compared to Sainsbury’s. For those who prefer cute, decorative pumpkins, Aldi’s Munchkin Pumpkins are a bargain at just 42p each.

Customers can save 66% compared to M&S, which prices their small pumpkins at £1.25.

If you’re going all out this Halloween, Aldi’s Giant Pumpkins are available for £5.99, perfect for making a memorable front porch display.
