Cheryl announced as new face of ‘age rewinding’ Nivea serum that gives results in two weeks

The pop star is making her return to the spotlight with a collaboration with one of the high street’s best-loved skincare brands, and a serum that ‘brings back that youthful, radiant glow’

Cheryl has, understandably, mainly kept away from the spotlight and social media following the tragic death of her former partner Liam Payne 10 months ago, but the singer is now back with an exciting new project.

The Girls Aloud singer, 42, has just been announced as a new ambassador for Nivea – a brand that the star says she has “used for as long as [she] can remember” – and in particular working as the face of Nivea Cellular Epigenetics Age Rewind Face Serum with Epicelline, a smart anti-ageing serum that helps to turn back the clock on visible signs of ageing.

This Nivea Age Rewind Serum, which costs £34.99 from retailers such as Boots, Superdrug and Amazon, is the result of 15 years of scientific research, and contains hero ingredient Epicelline, which is clinically proven to rewind cellular skin age in as little as two weeks, helping older skin cells behave like younger ones.

In total, Nivea says that this innovative serum helps to target 10 key signs of ageing, including wrinkles, and loss of elasticity, firmness, and moisture, giving a visibly lifted and smoother complexion. In Nivea’s tests, 93% of users noticed visibly plumped skin after seven days, while after four weeks, 100% reported a more youthful appearance.

And Cheryl clearly also agrees. “I’m so excited to be partnering with Nivea,” she says in the brand announcement. “It’s such a trusted and relied upon brand that continues to evolve with the times. For me, it’s always been trust in a bottle, I’ve used it for as long as I can remember and always make sure I have the classic blue pot in my bathroom cupboard!

“Over the years, my skincare routine has been through every phase, from chasing trends to finally figuring out what really works. This new serum is a total game-changer. It’s smart, it’s gentle, and it brings back that youthful, radiant glow we all love and remember.”

In a teaser video over on her Instagram account, meanwhile, Cheryl adds, “I promise you that after using this for just two weeks you’ll notice a difference in the integrity of your skin…I did!”

And it’s not just those working with Nivea who praise the effect that this serum has on skin. There are also hundreds of five-start review of it online, including those who say that “skin looked brighter and more radiant after use”.

“After trying this for two weeks I can honestly say that I really noticed a difference in how my skin feels and looks,” one Boots customer wrote, clearly agreeing with Cheryl. “The serum pump is easy to use and left my skin feeling really well nourished. It also makes for a perfect base under make-up. What I especially liked is how lightweight this felt and it was easily absorbed into the skin.”

Another agreed that it “leaves my skin plump and well hydrated. I’ve got less creases on my eyes and smile areas. I get a lot of compliments. People are also asking what my skincare is.”

Some, however, failed to see much change in their skin after two weeks of use, including one customer who reported that “there was no discernible difference from the start to finish”. It’s worth noting that it’s usually advised to use a new skincare product for a full skin cycle – around four weeks – before checking for any results.

If you’re looking for an alternative serum said to ‘reverse’ signs of ageing, Boots No7 Future Renew Serum, £37.95, is perhaps the most well-known, launching to a waitlist of thousands and then flying off the shelves.

And if you’ve got a bit more money to spend, Skinceuticals P-TIOX, £130, is a more advanced option, and a favourite with our beauty editor.
