Chris Hughes appears to have reached a new level of bliss after meeting and falling for American singer JoJo Siwa while competing on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year
Chris Hughes has declared that he is in the ‘happiest stage of his life’ amid his reported romance with American singer JoJo Siwa. In recent months, the 32-year-old Love Island star has stunned fans by falling for 22-year-old JoJo.
The pair were brought together as contestants on ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother, where they quickly formed a close bond. JoJo had entered the house while in a relationship with Australian blogger and DJ Kath Ebbs.
When the show ended, JoJo savagely dumped her girlfriend at the CBB wrap party – and in recent days she and Chris have seemingly confirmed their romance as they were snapped kissing in a swimming pool together in Mexico. With the new relationship seemingly going from strength to strength, Chris has indicated his is on cloud nine.
Taking to social media on Saturday, the star gave an insight into the blissful feeling he is experiencing as his life is falling into place. Sharing a snap of himself at a football ground via Instagram Stories, the reality star wrote: “One of the best days of our lives.”
He added: “In the happiest stage of my life” along with red and white emojis. Chris was also celebrating sport as Sunderland, who he supports, were promoted back to the Premier League.
Chris’s upbeat statement came hours after it was claimed JoJo has been planning a future with the star. A source told the Daily Mail: “[JoJo is] telling people that Chris is the one in a dramatic twist in the way she has lived her life over the last few years.
“She feels more alive than she ever has been with anyone else. With Chris, she realised that this is exactly what she has wanted for so long.”
The source also “confirmed” that the pair were an item, telling the publication: “The rumours are true, they are a thing and it is going very well.”
Meanwhile, JoJo’s mum, Jesslaynn, seems to have given their romance her blessing, as she took to Instagram, sharing a collection of photos and videos from the past week. The post featured JoJo and Chris dancing at Disneyworld, followed by a spontaneous photo of them together. Another snap captured the emotional reunion between JoJo and Chris last week after he flew 12 hours to Mexico just in time for her birthday.
On Wednesday, JoJo revealed that she was reduced to tears when she had to say goodbye to Chris as he returned to the UK. In a video shared on Instagram, a heartbroken JoJo is seen accompanying the Love Island star to the airport. She commented: “Tears coming from under the sunglasses.”
However, it appears JoJo won’t have to wait long for another reunion with Chris, as she disclosed on Snapchat on Thursday that she’s flying back to LA for a brief 48-hour stay, before jetting off to London ahead of her two shows in the capital next week.
This follows a heartfelt tribute JoJo posted to Chris on TikTok, accompanied by clips from her birthday trip to Florida. The Dance Moms star shared a compilation of adorable moments from her week with Chris and her family, including the stack of neatly wrapped presents Chris gifted her for her birthday.
Another video showcased one of JoJo’s presents – a customised mug featuring a picture of her and Chris together – and other special moments like the pair dancing in Disney World, holding hands and hugging for a photo.
JoJo captioned her touching post: “I was gonna make a slide post of my favourite photos and videos from this last week, but TikTok made an auto edit and used the LIVE version of the photos… my heart is smiling so big with tears in my eyes. This birthday week is one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I can’t quite put it into words… the best I can say is it’s been the most magical week of my life, truly the way it feels.”
“I got to spend chill time with my favourite people, and also be on stage doing my favourite thing for a beautiful crowd of Siwanatorz in Mexico. Wouldn’t trade one second of this birthday week for anything. I feel so happy and grateful for the universe and the way it works.”
While appearing on Love Island, Chris embarked on a relationship with fellow contestant Olivia Attwood, only for the romance to collapse weeks after the season ended. He later dated Little Mix star Jesy Nelson form 2019 until 2020 and golfer Annabel Dimmock from 2021 until 2022.
