A cleaning pro has shared a ‘cheap and easy’ hack to make shower glass ‘crystal clear’ in minutes – and it is perfect for those who are struggling with limescale
Murky showers are nobody’s idea of a spa experience, and trying to scrub them clean can often leave you with more streaks than sparkle.
Over time, hard water can leave its mark in the form of limescale – those unsightly mineral deposits that cling stubbornly to surfaces. While it’s not harmful to health, limescale can be an eyesore and a pain to shift.
If your shower glass is looking less than pristine and you’re fed up with cleaning products that just add to the smears, there’s an ‘easy’ fix for that. Cleaning guru Beth, who has amassed an impressive 90,000 TikTok followers with her clever cleaning solutions, shared her secret for achieving ‘crystal clear’ shower glass and banishing stubborn limescale.
“You’re going to put a mixture of dish soap, white vinegar and water into a spray bottle,” she instructs in a recent video on her channel, Clean With Beth. “Give it a really good spray down and then you’re going to go in with a non-scratch scourer.”
For this task, Beth recommends using a ‘Scrub Mummy’, a versatile cleaning sponge available on Amazon for £3.50. After thoroughly scrubbing away the limescale, ensuring you’ve reached every corner of the glass, rinse off any residue with the shower head and let the glass air dry for about half an hour instead of wiping it down with a cloth.
Cleaning expert Beth is a fan of the hack, which she describes as ‘cheap and easy’ and claims she ‘absolutely loves’. The tip quickly gained attention, with one user responding: “[I] love this method. I also fill up a fish wand with the same combination and use it on my windows and sliding doors as well.”
Another user asked: “What ratio do you [use]? I would love to try this at work” and Beth replied: “Only a dash of the dish soap and equal parts white vinegar and water.” A third commenter was left speechless, simply writing: “Wow.”
