Cleaning expert Kelly, who goes by @mrsdscleaningreviews online, has shared a handy hack to remove toilet stains that can’t be removed with bleach or other cleaning products
When it comes to tackling the unpleasant task of cleaning toilet seats, many put it off until unsightly stains become too much to ignore.
But a cleaning expert has just dropped a brilliant tip that can make those stubborn marks disappear. Shying away from the use of harsh chemicals or bleach, social media sensation Kelly, known as @mrsdscleaningreviews on TikTok, has dished out her clever hack to her followers, guaranteeing minimal effort and stunning outcomes.
Her viral video is captioned: “Toilet cleaning hack. The unsightly stains under the toilet seat. Bleach doesn’t remove it, it will only discolour it so it’s not visible. So this is my top secret to banishing it for good and making your toilet seat shine. All you need is a Magic Eraser. Happy Cleaning.”
The cleaning maestro began the clip with a look at the ‘before’ shot of the toilet seat plagued with yellow spots – typically caused by limescale, cleaning agents, and urine.
Armed with a damp Magic Eraser, she confronts the yellow nemesis, and in mere moments, the blemishes are wiped away, leaving the seat in a gleaming condition.
These magical sponges have proven themselves against difficult stains all over the house, from the loo to the kitchen, and practically any surface in between. Though they might look like your regular sponge, Magic Erasers possess the unique ability to tackle discolouration that soap and water alone can’t handle.
The product is composed of melamine foam, a porous material that allows water to pass through it. This active ingredient in cleaning sponges works hard to eliminate stains from surfaces.
Kelly utilises the Flash Magic Eraser to get rid of the unpleasant stains, which can be bought at Sainsbury’s for £3 for a two-pack. Other brands are also effective, including a pack of ten magic erasers available on Amazon for just £2 – costing only 20p per sponge.
