Coleen Nolan has shed light on the future of Loose Women and its panellists as ITV prepares to slash the show’s budget amid sweeping network-wide cuts
Coleen Nolan has made a huge statement about the future of the Loose Women panel, as ITV prepares to cut the show’s budget and the number of weeks for which it runs during the year.
ITV announced earlier this year that Loose Women will only run for 30 weeks of the year from 2026 onwards. This comes as part of sweeping cuts being made by the network to cut costs, and many have wondered if this will push the celeb panel to leave.
Coleen, however, has insisted that none of the regulars are moving on. When asked if stars would be leaving, she said that there has been “no mention of it”.

In a conversation with Bella magazine, the 60-year-old star, who has been on the show since 2000, said: “No, [the producers] have just got to work it out, because we’ll only be on air for 30 weeks. But there’s no mention of anyone going.”
“We have to have a big pool of women,” she added. “Because a lot of us are mothers and grandmothers and have other jobs outside of it. That’s why it’s great – then they’ve always got cover.”
Coleen added that the atmosphere behind the scenes is “amazing again” as the panellists now have a clearer understanding of what is going on at ITV and what it means for the show.
“When it was first announced, morale was low, purely because of all the amazing people behind the scenes losing jobs,” she explained. “It was really sad, but now we all know what’s going on, the morale is amazing again.”
She also shot down any notion of fall-outs between the panellists. “The stories of backstage bickering are so fake. They’re like my second family, it’s like having extra sisters.”
Coleen first became famous as part of The Nolans, a girl group featuring the six Nolan sisters – Coleen, Maureen, Anne, Linda, Denise and Bernie. They had hits such as I’m In The Mood For Dancing and were a band from 1974 to 2005.
Four of the original members came back together in 2009 and planned a farewell tour in 2013, but it was cancelled due to the death of Bernie Nolan.
Earlier this year, Linda died of breast cancer. Coleen shared with Bella how that affected her. “I was in a really bad place. I lost my mojo, I didn’t want to do anything.” She later said that she was in therapy and that was the “best thing I’ve ever done”.
