Manchester United and Celtic legends are going head to head in a match to support the MU Foundation, with Coleen Rooney watching on as her husband Wayne Rooney returns to the pitch
Proud Coleen Rooney has been seen cheering on her husband Wayne Rooney at the Manchester United Legends match at Old Trafford.
The mum-of-four has been spotted on the sidelines to cheerlead for her husband and the father of her kids. She looked as stunning as ever in a leopard print top and blue jeans.
She went for a glam makeup look as she slicked her brunette hair back. She accessorised her look with hoop earrings and a gold watch. Coleen cheered for her husband Wayne who is playing with other Man United legends against Celtic legends.
Both clubs are aiming to raise a large amount of money for the Manchester United Foundation. Several other football stars are returning to the pitch such as Antonio Valencia, Danny Simpson, Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher and Mikael Silvestre.
Coleen is often seen supporting her husband as she did when she praised him for his Euros coverage. He left Germany early in order to start his new job as the Plymouth Argyle boss. Wayne had initially planned to spend the entire tournament out in Germany as a pundit for the BBC. However, after confirming his new role, he made a swift exit to start the pre-season preparations.
Mum-of-four Coleen spoke to the Mirror about his work and admitted she and the family had been tuning in to see him on TV. But although she loved seeing Wayne on screens, she admitted she was glad for a change of scenery. Speaking at The Sedulo Foundation celebrity gala in Manchester, she said: “It’s nice to have a break away from the football for the night and enjoy a night with my friends. The kids are obsessed with the Euros and we’ve all been watching Wayne while he’s been on the TV in Germany. He’s done great! We’re all rooting for England of course!”
Coleen and Wayne’s marriage has hit the rocks over the years due to cheating allegations but they have managed to come out the other side. She has said in the past that despite their difficulties, their love for one another has never waned during their 15-year marriage.
In an interview with Vogue magazine Coleen admitted the couple have weathered storms that had her questioning their longevity. “It’s been a battle at times,” she said. “I look at [any] situation we’re in and think, ‘Could we move forward from that? Is it worth moving forward from that?’ I don’t just give up.”
Coleen joked she has even remarked that her husband’s infidelities put her in a better stead to cope with his misbehaviour. She added: “We’ve never backed away from it. We own it. I remember having a conversation about this with someone and I said, ‘Well, do you know what your wife gets up to every day and night? At least I know what my husband’s doing!’ It mightn’t be good, but I know. People lie to themselves.”
