The UFC icon – who hasn’t fought since losing to Dustin Poirier in 2021 – has stunned fans following a bizarre post uploaded to his official Instagram
Former UFC dual-weight champion Conor McGregor has bizarrely vowed to ‘break jaws’ at a Limp Bizkit gig tonight.
The heavy rock band are currently traveling all over the globe as part of their ‘Loserville 2025’ tour. The band from Jacksonville, Florida, are scheduled to perform at the 3Arena in Dublin tonight, and it seems as if the UFC icon is set to be in attendance following a rather peculiar post on Instagram.
McGregor took to Instagram teasing that he will be at the concert in Ireland as he wrote: “Who’s going to @limpbizkit in Ireland tomorrow? I’ll be bang in the centre of the Moshpit if anyone’s looking for their jaw broke and their teeth sent.” The Irishman captioned the post: “See ya’s in @theblackforgeinn fella’s! @limpbizkit @greenbackrecords”
It’s fair to say many will look to avoid ‘The Notorious’ at the arena should he chose follow his words. McGregor, 36, hasn’t fought since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in 2021. After breaking his leg in the trilogy showdown with ‘The Diamond,’ the Irishman has been recovering, but at the moment, seemingly has no immediate plans to return to the cage.
He was due to take on former Bellator lightweight world champion Michael Chandler last year, but was forced to pull out of the contest after picking up an injury in training. Despite being slightly eager to return to the cage this year, UFC chief Dana White has cast doubt on whether McGregor will fight in the Octagon. When asked about his future and whether or not he’ll compete under the UFC banner again, White recently said: “Conor? I’m not sure when Conor will be back.”
The Irishman recently revealed that he’d be willing to switch to BKFC in an attempt to succeed in another sport. “Yes. Yes. The warrior spirit burns strong inside me,” he said. “For sure. If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again. For sure. Conor McGregor will fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship – mark my words.
“I’d like a world title in this company. I would wish to be the Bare Knuckle world champion. That is a significant belt to hold in your career. Nobody from boxing to mixed martial arts can speak nothing bad on a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship world champion. So for sure, I’d be coming in looking for the world title.”
He added: “There are many bouts, showcase bouts you could say, Mike Perry. You could say Jeremy Stephens. You could say a rematch against Eddie Alvarez. You could say many matches. But the lightweight title, who is the champion right now, lightweight or welterweight? Let’s see. I’m open. We’ll see when it comes.”
