Coronation Street actor Luca Toolan has seemingly landed a new job following his character Mason Radcliffe’s death on the Cobbles after he was stabbed by his brothers
Coronation Street’s Luca Toolan, who played troubled Mason Radcliffe in the soap, has shared that he’s swapped the drama of the cobbles for a teaching gig after his character was dramatically killed off. Mason journey on the Cobbles came to a tragic end when ITV writers decided to axe the character – the 21 year old met his demise after a fatal stabbing in a jaw-dropping episode, leaving no doors open for a return.
Following a year and a half on Coronation Street, Luca divulged to his followers that he’s taken up teaching, mere weeks since waving goodbye to his soap opera alter ego. Eager to share his craft, Luca will be engaging with upcoming talents through acting classes. He took to social media to excitedly talk about his latest endeavour.
In an engaging clip, Luca announced: “I am keeping myself busy as best as possible and I am running some acting classes.” Grateful for this new opportunity, he added: “I am teaching at Bee Rogue Talent so thank you to those guys.” Luca outlined what aspiring actors can expect: “It is going to be great and we are going to do a lot of script analysis, improvisation, character development and learning and teaching the craft of acting.”
His enthusiasm was palpable as he continued: “I am super excited.” Fans rushed to the comment section to praise the star, with one writing: “@lucatoolan congratulations hunnie you gonna smash this out the park.”
An announcement by Bee Rogue talent stated: “Excited to announce we will be having Luca Toolan down to teach at our brand new classes. We can’t wait to start this next exciting venture!”
However, it seems this teaching stint might not be Luca’s final act, as he hints at more screen time to come. With broadcasting in his blood—his father being radio icon Mike Toolan—Luca has teased his involvement in a forthcoming comedy series.
A new show titled ‘Grass Roots’ is about to bring a father-son duo to the stage in Preston, with ‘Loose Women’ star Sheree Murphy set to lead the cast as she returns to the limelight after a seven-year hiatus. Joining her in this pilot are familiar faces including Kim Tiddy of ‘The Bill’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ fame, and Zak Douglas, known for ‘G’Wed’ and Good Ship Murder.
Over in Weatherfield, Mason Radcliffe, played by Luca Toolan, met a tragic end on ‘Coronation Street’ when his brothers, Matty and Logan, viciously stabbed him with Dylan Wilson’s knife in the play park. Luca took to Instagram to voice his gratitude and bid adieu, sharing: “Thank you. What an honour and privilege it’s been to be a part of this show, and to be trusted with this story. Truly. I’ve met some of the most incredible friends I’ll cherish for life that have been beyond supportive and loving.
“I’m at a loss for words to quantify what they mean and what this experience has meant to me. Through the highs and the lows Liam, Charlie and Karen been there since day 1. I owe them all so much. To the incredible army that makes this show and to the all the supporters of it thank you for making a lads dream come true.
