A dad has been left flabbergasted after forking out for some burgers at a popular airport. He shared a video online showing the amount of food he got for his money
Every now and then we find ourselves needing a quick bite, particularly when walking through the terminals awaiting our next flight.
Naturally, hunger strikes hardest when we’re airport-bound, making a grab-and-go meal an essential part of the travel experience. Yet, one father, known on TikTok as travellingdad, got quite the surprise when he treated his family to some fast food at Burger King in Antalya Airport, Turkey.
He was staggered by the steep £83.75 bill for what he called “poxy” burgers – describing the exorbitant fee as “disgusting”, and indicative of spiralling prices hitting the tourist destination hard.
In a video uploaded online, he revealed exactly what he managed to get for his money, and he wasn’t very impressed.

In the footage, he vents: “I’m not usually one to moan, but this warrants a video. Get ready for this. So in Antalya Airport, this is what £83.00 gets you. £83.00 gets you two of these – it’s like an envelope. That one, I can’t quite understand what it is, but yeah.”
With travellers voicing their unease over Turkey’s mounting costs in recent times, and some even branding the destination as “dead” due to inflation turning tourists away, his video has sparked quite a reaction. It’s racked up over 4,000 views and people were quick to comment too.
One viewer reflected the sentiment, remarking: “Have been to Antalya Airport, super expensive. In fact, Turkey has become very expensive.”
Another replied: “I’ll never go back to Turkey. It’s a complete rip off now.” A third also added: “Antalya Airport has gone insane with prices. Went four times last year and watched them shoot up.”
However, opinions among holidaymakers varied. Some expressed their fondness for the destination, while others questioned the logic of paying high prices only to later complain.
One commenter pointed out: “But you still paid, then complained. That’s why people charge these prices knowing they have ‘holiday money’.”
Echoing this sentiment, another person added: “Sorry, but more fool you for paying it. Went last August, and everyone on TikTok was warning everyone about the cost. My family paid just over £100 for McDonalds – two adults, two kids. I went without.”
Someone else also chimed in with: “Why did you buy it? Not like anyone forced you to pay it. Every airport is expensive – don’t eat at airports and then moan about prices.”
Burger King has been approached for comment regarding their airport food pricing.
