Dad ‘made friend dig his own grave after pal raped his six-year-old daughter’

Vyacheslav Matrosov forced Oleg Sviridov, who had raped his daughter, to dig his own grave in the woods before he killed himself, in a case that has shocked Russia

A dad is said to have forced his friend to ‘dig his own grave’ when he allegedly discovered video footage of his six-year-old daughter being sexually abused.

Vyacheslav Matrosov, 35, discovered a clip of his young child being coerced into sexual acts by Oleg Sviridov, 32, and decided to confront him. In a chilling audio clip, the child’s desperate plea can be heard: “Oleg, that’s enough, I can’t take it anymore. I want to go home.”

Matrosov forced Sviridov to dig his own grave in the woods and persuaded him to take his own life. Matrosov initially faced murder charges, but further investigation revealed that Sviridov’s injuries were self-inflicted.

In 2022, Matrosov was sentenced to 18 months in prison. He served 12 months before being released, reports the Express. Public sentiment in Russia rallied behind Matrosov when it came to light that he had made his daughter’s abuser dig his own grave in the forest.

Upon his release from prison, Matrosov shared a photo on social media with the caption: “Home. Love very much.” The Krasnoglinsky Court in Samara found Matrosov guilty of “encouraging” Sviridov to take his own life, resulting in an 18-month sentence in a strict regime prison colony.

Had Matrosov been convicted of murder, the former rocket engine plant worker could have faced up to 15 years in prison. The local community in the Samara region rallied behind Matrosov after he was linked to the death of convicted paedophile Sviridov, drawing global attention to the case.

Locals in Pribrezhnoye kindly contributed funds to help cover Matrosov’s initial court costs. He brought his mate to the woodland and presented him with an ultimatum.

A petition gathering 2,500 signatures surfaced, calling for Matrosov’s acquittal, with residents voicing appreciation for “saving our children by ridding us of a child sex attacker.” Well-known TV figure and former Russian presidential hopeful Ksenia Sobchak openly declared: “All parents are standing up for the paedophile’s killer.”
