Dad promises son prize if he beats ‘impossible’ challenge and something epic happens

By staff21 May 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

A dad says he ‘made have made a mistake’ after telling his nine-year-old son he could have any prize he wants. All he had to do was complete a difficult door challenge

A dad promised his son a grand prize if he managed to complete a difficult challenge – and never could have predicted the outcome. Josh Wilson was sure his son wouldn’t be able to pass the test, which involves catching a bank card with your forehead. The trick is to catch the card as it falls – by pinning it to a wall or a door.

It requires cat-like reflexes, so Josh probably was feeling quite confident that his son wouldn’t be able to succeed. In a TikTok video, he told his boy: “So, if you catch it with your forehead, you can buy anything you want with this card”.

The dad was left gobsmacked as his son managed to beat the challenge – and his mum was heard hysterically laughing behind the camera. The son screamed out “yes, yes”, as the realisation sunk in. The video has raked in almost 20million views.

People were quick to comment and asked what the little boy bought. While the dad assumed he would want a new game or toy, he actually asked for something a lot different.

He teased: “I don’t know how we’re going to make it happen” – and added it “may have been a mistake” to promise him anything he wanted.

Josh’s baseball-loving son insisted he didn’t want to buy anything. Instead, he wanted to meet Texas Rangers star Adolis Garcia.

The dad asked if people could help him get the word out and repost the video. And as a result, it was shared with Texas Rangers players including Garcia himself.

Josh added: “I don’t know how this is possible, but you would make a little nine-year-old boy’s world. His whole dreams would come true, that would be awesome.”

Manifesting the meet-up ended up working – as dad Josh returned to TikTok to post an update earlier this week. He said his son had “no idea what’s going on”.

The boy was gobsmacked to learn the video had gone viral and that he’d get to hang out with his favourite baseball team as a result.

Updating his son, a delighted Josh said: “A bunch of Rangers players and their wives found it, the Rangers found it and Adolis Garcia has apparently seen the video.

“The Rangers have reached out and you get to go to the game, and be on the field for batting practice. Fingers crossed, you’ll meet Adolis Garcia himself.”

The dad is planning to update his followers with what happens on the big day – and it’s safe to say people are absolutely chuffed for the family.

One commenter said: “This is awesome! So glad it worked out for you all.” Another wrote: “This is the best thing I’ve seen on TikTok in a while. Awesome sauce.”

A third remarked: “Love when teams step up to things like this, that’s so amazing.” Another said: “The giggle…he’s trying to play it cool… so glad he gets his dream!”

And a third added: “This is awesome, he will never forget that.”
