These unnerving photos show the moment a family spotted a highly dangerous and venomous snake in their daughter’s bed – but would you be able to spot it before getting into bed?

A family were left terrified after they spotted a dangerous animal hiding in a bed – but would you be able to see it?

Easy to miss, the animal was curled up nicely in the child’s bed which left the Queensland family horrified but luckily they managed to spot it and remove it. Looking at the unnerving photos at first glance, you may just see a child’s bed covered with teddies, but taking a closer look may scare you. When the family took a closer look at the bed, they spotted a snake tucked up among the covers – and it wasn’t just any snake, it was a red-bellied black snake, which is often spotted in eastern parts of Australia, and a species of venomous snakes.

They are a medium-sized reptile and according to the Australian Museum, they have a “moderate to robust build and head barely distinct from the neck” with a black body and red belly. They are venomous and their bites can be potentially fatal, but despite people being bitten by them, there have been no deaths reported.

These animals, although dangerous, are quite shy and will only react when they feel like they are being threatened, so the family called professional snake catchers to remove the unwanted guest from their daughter’s bed – and were lucky they spotted it before she got into her bed.

Snake Catchers Brisbane & Gold Coast wrote on Facebook: “This Highly Venomous Red-Bellied Black snake was relocated from a child’s bed this morning in Jimboomba after trying to blend in with some cuddle toys,” as they shared a photo of the snake and believe it came through an open door into the house.

However, people were shocked at how relaxed the snake appeared to be while being removed from the bed. One Facebook user wrote: “Wow, such a chill buddy! Getting into the bag by himself and all,” and a second said: “Pretty chill snake! Luckily it was found before the little girl gave it a scare.”
