There’s no doubt about it: the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray reached cult status not long after its launch. For the past 15 years, the setting spray—which rivals Charlotte Tilbury’s viral Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray and Elf’s Power Grip Dewy Setting Spray—has kept its promise of keeping makeup waterproof, smudge-proof, fade-proof, crack-proof, and transfer-resistant. And it’s no wonder why Dani swears by it for completing her full-face for filming.

Long-time fans of the product confidently declare that it’s one of the best on the market, even though it was announced that the formula may be changing.

Boots is currently selling it for its full price of £23.60, and LookFantastic is offering it for the same reduced price. Urban Decay claims it keeps your makeup looking fresh for up to 16 hours without fading, smudging, or settling into fine lines, and our Lifestyle & Shopping Writer Pheobe Barton completely agrees.

She says: “I first discovered the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray in my teenage years when I started wearing makeup and would often need it to stay looking as pristine as possible from morning until night. As I’ve got older, I’ve relied on the setting spray even more, especially when I lived in London and would often work long hours where I’d leave the house at 8 am and wouldn’t get home until 10 pm, plus I had to battle the melting temperatures of the tube on a daily basis.”

She continues: “Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray keeps my makeup in place without any need to touch it up, as it ensures my foundation doesn’t go patchy, my mascara doesn’t transfer under my eyes, and my highlighter stays sparkling all day.”

But it isn’t just Dani and Pheobe singing the praises of this setting spray, as plenty of reviews pour in. One thrilled buyer beams: “Works perfectly. My makeup always stays in place all day. The spray is very thin to apply so it does not rub away any makeup. It’s very easy to use and leaves a soft glowiness to the skin. No discernible smell, looks amazing and makes my makeup last all day. My favourite setting spray.”

More adoration comes from this shopper who says: “My favourite setting spray! I always have one in my make up kit and one for personal use. Melts your makeup beautifully to the skin and helps your make up last all day.”

Another shopper, however, pointed out a couple of issues, but they still gave the setting spray five stars. They explained: “This really is the best setting spray around, it is expensive but worth it. I’ve tried a lot of other cheaper ones and they’re just not as good. This one keeps my makeup in place well, it gets a bit greasy but I think that’s more my skin needs blotting rather than the spray.”

But for the most part the reviews are nothing buy praise, as this fourth customer raves: “The best setting spray I have tried. Makeup lasts all day without smudging or going into the fine lines of your skin and overall helps with giving a more flawless texture to your look. Application is very easy which is great for full coverage. The product does have a smell when you initially apply it but that soon fades.”

This shopper chimes in: “Best make up setting spray out there! My make up lasts all day and still looks freshly applied even when it’s hot! The big bottle is better value for money and lasts a long time.”

While this buyer shares the same sentiments: “This is the best setting spray there is or ever was, even when I try others they have nothing on All Nighter. Keeps my make up on all day, even at a festival in the rain.”
