Deadly listeria bacteria found in Spar chicken as shop issues urgent warning

Spar is recalling several chicken products after listeria was found in the food; a deadly bacteria that can cause diarrhoea, vomiting, and even meningitis

Three different Spar chicken products are being recalled by the shop, after listeria contamination was confirmed.

Spar said its chicken fillets had tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, which is a food poisoning bug that can lead to serious health complications.

The urgent recall related to the following products:

  • SPAR Enjoy Local Cooked Chicken Pieces
