Sean “Diddy” Combs, the hip-hop mogul sentenced to four years and two months in prison, has been caged at the infamous Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn
Disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is begging the judge to serve his four-yer jail term at a low-level facility, it is understood.
Diddy was sentenced to four years and two months in prison on Friday after he was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution. The 55-year-old artist has, since last September, been locked up at the infamous Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York City, where he has been held in the Special Housing Unit.
But it is believed the shamed musician has requested to serve his time at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security prison in Fort Dix, New Jersey. His legal team has requested Diddy move to the cushier facility at the next opportunity, it is said.
The star was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution, and broke down in tears as he was jailed at a court in New York City on Friday.

A note from defense attorney Teny Geragos alleged to have been sent to Judge Arun Subramanian reads: “On behalf of Mr. Combs, we respectfully request that the Court strongly recommend a designation facility to the Bureau of Prisons in Mr. Combs’ Judgment.
“In order to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts, we request that the Court strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be placed at FCI Fort Dix for RDAP (Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program) purposes and any other available educational and occupational programs.”

The Daily Mail reports RDAPs are voluntary programs in federal prisons, which offer cognitive-behavioral therapy for people with substance abuse disorders.
These typically last from six to twelve months. Enrolled prisoners often live in a designated section of the prison and divide up their days between activities centred around drug abuse treatment and work and educational programs.
Combs confessed in court that his time in federal custody has been the first time in 25 years that he has been sober. He said: “I lost my way. I got lost in my journey. Lost in the drugs and the excess.”
FCI Fort Dix opened its gates in 1992 and houses roughly 4,000 inmates. There are only about 1,250 inmates at MDC Brooklyn, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). Fort Dix is located on the grounds of the McGuire Air Force Base. With the 13 months Combs has already spent behind bars, he is on course to be freed in November 2028.
