Disney+ hikes subscription prices again – see how much more you’ll pay

By staff2 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Disney joins Netflix in quietly increasing the price of subscriptions to its Disney+ on-demand streaming service in what is another blow to subscriber bank accounts

Disney has delivered yet another price hike to its Disney+ streaming service in what is a huge blow for new subscribers.

The media juggernaut has increased the cost of all its plans by up to £24 in a move that came into effect on Tuesday, September 30. It comes after Netflix ramped up its prices earlier this year.

Monthly subscriptions are up £1 a month for both Standard and Standard with Ads (£9.99 and £5.99 respectively) while there’s a £2 rise for the Premium Plan which now costs £14.99 each month.

Annual passes are also affected with a Standard skyrocketing by £10 to £99.90 a year. Meanwhile, the Premium plan has increased by £20, now setting subscribers back £149.90.

It remains to be seen whether these changes will affect existing subscribers. In Disney’s terms and conditions, however, it states that users will be notified of any price changes with 30 days notice so make sure to check if you have received any correspondence.

If not, consider yourself unaffected — at least for now until your next payment date. The Mirror has reached out to Disney for clarification and are awaiting a reply.

Disney+ has massively boosted its catalogue with a number of new additions in the last month. Tempest, a Korean spy thriller, debuted on the service in early September, joined by the likes of Swiped, Sneaker Wars Adidas vs Puma, with Murdaugh Death in the Family due to arrive in October.

All’s Fair will be available to stream in November, while Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is coming on December 10.

Something that did arrive on Disney+ very recently was Chad Powers which The Mirror’s Hayley Anderson described as “hilarious”, writing: “Chad Powers has finally dropped on Disney+ and I’m already hoping there will be a season two on the way.

“Whenever a sports-themed drama or comedy crops up on my calendar, I tend to avoid it at all costs, but as a fan of Glen Powell and his work on Anyone But You with Sydney Sweeney, I thought I’d give his new Disney+ comedy Chad Powers a test drive.

“So far, there has been no word on whether or not a second season of Chad Powers is on the way, but Disney+ would be making a mistake if it didn’t decide to give Powell and the team another shot at this funny yet surprisingly touching sitcom. And that’s coming from someone who can’t switch over Match of the Day fast enough.”
