Doctor’s ‘concern’ for Donald Trump’s health after three worrying photos in a week

EXCLUSIVE: A doctor has voiced concern over recurring bruises on President Donald Trump’s hand, as speculation about his health reignites ahead of the fall

A medical professional has expressed concern over the condition of President Donald Trump after yet another bruise was spotted on his hand.

Fresh health concerns were sparked yesterday when a dark bruise was spotted on Trump’s hand as he signed another executive order in the Oval Office. It came just days after he was spotted with a bruised hand in a golf video, while another image at a different event appeared to show heavy make up applied to another hand.

The images have continued to fuel speculation over Trump’s health, despite the White House previously confirming he was suffering a long-term condition.

Speaking to Reach PLC, Medical Director of Manual Dr Jeff Foster said that he would be concerned by the recurrence of the bruises over such a long period of time.

Dr Jeff said: “It appears this bruise in question is recurring, having seen a similar bruise in August and November of last year.

“The most likely explanation is that this could well be bruising from a recent cannula from the way it appears, and of course, as Donald Trump is nearly 80 years old, his skin is naturally thinner and weaker, which happens as we age, and therefore we bruise much more easily.

“The White House representatives have suggested Donald’s bruise is from constantly shaking hands with people; however, I would be concerned if this was indeed the case, as it could indicate the use of blood-thinning drugs or skin fragility.”

Dr Jeff isn’t the first medical professional to comment on Trump’s bruises in recent months. After they appeared in April, the University of Salford’s Dr Gareth Nye suggested that he could be undergoing IV therapy.

He told the Daily Star: “Bruising is much more common as you age due to the thinning of skin and weakening of blood vessels. As we age, even minor bumps can result in bruising, and there’s often very little underlying to suggest a health concern.

“This is more likely if a person is on blood-thinning medication or has been exposed to excessive sunlight. It could also be a completely benign condition called actinic purpura, which is also caused by excessive sun exposure.

“It does resemble the type of bruising left by IV drip insertion, although there’s no evidence of IV usage or need.”

Renewed concerns over Trump’s health come months after his White House physician described him as being in “excellent cognitive and physical health”.

Following his first annual physical in April, his doctor Sean Barbabella said: “President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function.

“President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
