Does ANSWR’s exfoliating stone work for hair removal? Our writer ditches her razor to find out

With summer on the way and (sometimes) sunny weather already here, keeping up with hair removal and shaving your legs can be a real pain. However, I’ve found an answer that is totally painless, foolproof, and the perfect quick fix for days when you’ve forgotten and want to wear a short skirt.

Enter ANSWR’s Exfoliating Hair Removal Drop. Available to shop at Debenhams for £30.44, Face The Future for £29 or currently on sale at Beauty Bay for £20.10.

I actually don’t hate shaving as much as some, but anything that makes my life a little easier is something I will happily welcome, and that’s exactly what this exfoliating drop does.

So, what exactly is this hair removal product? It’s essentially a small stone (or drop, as it’s called) that you rub against your legs and arms to remove the hair and exfoliate the skin at the same time. Painless hair removal and skincare in one product? Genius.

ANSWR’s Exfoliating Hair Removal Drop review

One of the main selling points for me is that this drop actually exfoliates the skin, as well as removes hair. I’m a frequent fake tan user to prepping my skin beforehand is an important part of my routine, so I love how this can remove all the dead skin cells in preparation for a fresh layer of tan.

Another positive of this product is its fairly small and compact, making it easy to travel with. Most airlines don’t have issues with bringing razors in hand luggage or checked bags. However, it’s nice to know that I won’t have any issues at all when taking this drop away with me.

My main criticism is that my legs flare up slightly red for around twenty minutes after use. This is likely due to my sensitive skin, which tends to turn pinkish/red at the slightest touch. However, this does mean that if I want to use it as a last-minute fix, I will have to deal with having some red legs for the next half an hour.

Additionally, I find the drop works better on shorter hairs or stubble, rather than longer/ more stubborn leg hair that hasn’t been removed in a long time. Overall, considering how easy this is to use, it’s earned itself a spot in my beauty cupboard. I won’t completely give up shaving or waxing, but it’s nice to know I can use this on days when I have a little less energy.
